I wish global warming was real.........But it's not!

I think what is more important is the impact it has on the world as it is now. The human race now numbers close to 7 billion which far exceeds what it was on any previous occasions. The subject is just so intricate that I think it's best to let the scientists deal with and advise us accordingly. Most of the scientists seem to be on the same page. Do you ever listen to "Quirks and Quarks" with Bob MacDonald? He had a pretty convincing guest on a year or two ago. It would take me the rest of my life to achieve the knowledge that guy had and personally I have better things to do.

How much will sea level rise over a 100 years of 2 degree increase? What will happen to Amsterdam and Miami and New Orleans?
Bob McDonald is a f-cking hack.

Don't panic! It's organic!

What were sea levels like before we plunged into to coldest point in civilized man's history?

Did they freak out when summers were too short to grow a crop? Did they panic when seas recessed? How about when they were dumped on with unbelievable snowfalls and rains?

That was life 450 -160 years ago when glaciers reached their maximums in a very very short time do to the sun going cooler and sunspots disappearing.

160 years ago, the sun came back and started what we see today.

That is undeniable fact. Today we see the sun beginning to ease the intensity of sunspots creating a dramatic slowing in the rate of warming giving us a lull. CO2 can't create a lull.

Would you like to read a NASA article that says we have to wait until the next solar cycle to see whether or not warming will continue?

Pause Over Within 10 Years Says NASA's Schmidt

Ohhhhh just you wait!!!!

Global temperatures will resume their long term growth trend within five to 10 years ending the so called pause in global warming, a leading climate scientist has predicted.

The pause – which on some measures has gone on since the mid-1990s - continued into 2014 on the basis of global temperature data released last week by US space agency NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the US.

However, the warming effect of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide will grow sufficiently to overcome the combined impact of various natural climate cooling factors, journalists on a telephone news conference were told last week by Gavin Schmidt, director of NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies.

There is evidence that volcanoes and a slightly dimmer Sun have acted to cool the Earth recently and so offset the warming impact of greenhouse gases, according to Schmidt, widely seen as a strong advocate for the case that humans are causing climate change. But Schmidt said that he did not expect the global warming pause – which he referred to as the hiatus - to persist.

This is because the warming impact, or forcing, due to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere would keep growing with continuing emissions of greenhouse gases, Schmidt said, and "in five to ten years time it is changes in greenhouse gases that will dominate"
.

Probably nothing , but things change people adapt .
But the taxman is already taking 50 % of my earnings , will it ever be enough?

But how much of that 50% currently goes to combatting climate change? If you paid 25% would you be able to lay out the $20K to put solar panels on your roof?

Not a thing. New hotels and luxury high rises are going up on South Beach in Miami as we speak. It surely is upsetting the alarmists that people really aren't afraid.

How much did it drop when the earth plunged into the coldest point in civilized man's history? One could easily assume it will rise to where it once was now that we are almost average again.

how much co2 was in the atmosphere preceding the industrial revolution?

It makes no difference. It wasn't CO2 that brought us back to average temperatures.

You do realize global cooling 160 years ago ended because of the sun don't you?

Against bldg. code here for townhouses .

Against bldg. code here for townhouses .
Further . No I probably wouldn't install solar panels unless the cost benefit was there .
As to what % of tax goes to combat climate change , who knows .
Giving more money to politicians and beaurocrats ( never can spell that word) won't solve anything never has never will .

It works on some weak minded individuals (such as yourself?).

Speak for yourself A$$HOLE!

And where do you think the ice masses of Antarctica and Greenland are going to end up after the big thaw?

Why are they going to thaw? The darkness of winter and the fact they are at altitude will never change.

What's the matter folks we will all buy new stoves fridges and cars.
We will buy eco friendly stuff but we won't mention it came from the
countries that don't participate in lowering carbon. The cap and trade
is a new economic system of barter for business and the bull we
keep being handed is the fuel that drives the economy to do something
that does not need to be done.
Temperatures and weather patterns have changed throughout history.
In the sixteen hundreds it was cold there were no cars and no real
factories and then yup the weather changed.
All the stuff we hear is 90% of what make your grass grow green

New Orleans should be under water right now. It is artificial damns and levies which are keeping the sea out. Also the Missisipi river has been artificially forced to end at its current location. Pre-man, it has moved quite freely down there.

Also how much has the sea levels actually increased in your lifetime? Theoretically there has been significant alleged warming and it should have increased some. You will find it hasn't. Its Climate Change fear mongering 101. It works on some weak minded individuals (such as yourself?).
Perhaps that area is sinking rather than the water getting deeper. The ocean will not gain 20ft in one location not have it flow into other locations, especially in the GOM. That area is sinkhole heaven so why wouldn't there be gentle dips at the same time as from there to the Great Lakes. That is where the magma from the Atlantic and Pacific rifts meets and it will either push the land up or pull it down if that magma is heading back to the lower mantle to replace the material that is becoming oceanic crust.

. . . or we all become unemployed and we have to do the jobs for no pay just so we don't go the same way as the do-do bird. Homeless people are masters at recycling things, those will be the ones that are 'employed'.

Probably not initially but possibly over 10,000 years!

What you say sounds good Grumpy until you look at the difference between now and the 1600s.......................about 63/4 billions of people. Just visualize the world as a room in the winter time. You put one person in the room, the temp. inside the room is changed very little, but put 100 people in the same room!!!
