That ladder is definitely on too steep of an angle!

Conservatives are going to be angry about this.

Harper changes tack on Syrian refugee resettlement

Under public pressure to cut resettlement red tape, Conservative leader alludes to new moves to accelerate process.

Harper is way too soft, he should be letting barely any in. How many people are unemployed here now? How many people are on hospital wait lists? How many people are receiving welfare that is grossly insufficient. You can't f**king well please all the people all the time - there comes a time when you have to say "NO". If Harper was smart he'd stick to his guns and glean many votes from Jr. and Mulehair, when people finally wise up to the fact they are both being idiots. You'll hear the shrieking when the taxes sky rocket. :) :)

Syrian refugee crisis exposes Harper's ideological choices

You are Stephen Harper. Your government spends years demonizing asylum seekers as “bogus refugees.” It denies them health care. It takes pride in detaining and deporting many of them.

In tandem with pandering to nativists, you cater to Islamophobes by conflating law-abiding Muslims with Muslim terrorists. Your Conservative Party runs a fundraising campaign based on the warfare waged by your government on a single niqab-wearing woman who’s keen on becoming a Canadian citizen but not on you telling her what to wear.

You bend Canadian foreign policy out of shape to hunt for votes among Christian minorities from Egypt, Iraq and Pakistan. You exploit and exacerbate their “old country” fault lines, rather than following the Canadian tradition of bringing old warring factions together.

He said that weeks ago. Where were you? Getting high?

BTW, what are these people running from? Is anyone but Harper doing anything about that issue or supporting what needs to be done?

I think the rationalization of this is pretty simple -
1. How are we going to feed them? Our food banks are bursting at the seams
2. How are we going to employ them? 6% of our own people are on E.I. or Welfare
3. How are we going to address their medical needs? We already have line ups of over a year for some procedures.
4. How are we going to ensure we only get law abiding, industrious people? We are still dealing with gangsters and drug pushers that came into our country right after Expo 86.
I see Harper is now starting to lean in the direction of the two idiots, just hope he has a change of heart very soon or I'll have to vote Green.

Good lord, Harper is dumb.

'We'll do our part': Sask. premier Brad Wall on Syrian refugee crisis
Province has asked federal government to send more refugees to Saskatchewan

The government of Saskatchewan says the province is willing to accept additional refugees from Syria.

"We've told the federal government that Saskatchewan can and will support more refugees in our province to assist with the ongoing crisis," Premier Brad Wall said in a post on his Facebook account Friday. "We're going to work closely with all levels of government on how our province can help these families in their time of need."

Wall also used social media, including Twitter, to express support for all refugees fleeing war.

"As a people and a government, Saskatchewan will do its part for those fleeing war and tyranny for safe asylum," he said.

Wall also provided suggestions on how people could help organizations that work with refugees, including churches, church-related groups and non-profit organizations such as the Regina Open Door Society, the Saskatoon Refugee Coalition, the Prince Albert YWCA and the Southwest Newcomer Welcome Centre in Swift Current.

Refugees face roadblocks to get to Canada

According to provincial officials, Saskatchewan asked the federal government — a month ago — to increase the number of refugees coming to Saskatchewan by 15 per cent. Last year about 500 refugees came to Saskatchewan.

"We didn't put an announcement out or we didn't do it with a bunch of fanfare," Jeremy Harrison, Saskatchewan's minister for immigration, said Friday. "We did it because it's the right thing to do."

Harrison said more money would be spent by the province providing health care, language training and general resettlement services for the additional people. He added that most of the refugees coming to Saskatchewan are from Iraq, although he expects more Syrians to be coming to the province

The question is- how many of the immigrants are capable of filling any of these positions?

All of them just like the thousands and thousands of Iraqis we brought over the past decade.

Gees almost forgot all the Sudanese a d Somolis we took in who are good, hard working people that filled jobs Canadians were too good to take.

Good high paying permanent jobs.

Too fragile to move away from Mommy. Can you think of any other reason why we needed to bring 70,000 people with the balls to come from 10,000 km away to fill jobs?

Saskatchewan's immigrant surge is being reflected in the latest data from the federal census — with a big wave of people from the Philippines accounting for much of it.

According to the latest set of 2011 data released by Statistics Canada on Wednesday, there are 68,780 Saskatchewan residents who were born in other countries, compared to 48,160 in 2006 when the previous survey was taken.

In other words, more than 39 per cent of Saskatchewan's immigrants arrived between 2006 to 2011
