In five words or less (and two of them might be F**k off)

In English, of course.

They can say why they should be thankful to the British Empire in five English words and one British-invented mathematical symbol:

No British Empire = No America

Give your head a shake, the Vikings discovered America long before there was a British Empire.

They discovered the land of North America.

They didn't discover the United States - because it didn't exist at the time - or cause its founding. Had they done so, Americans would now be speaking Old Norse and would be electing a chieftain as their head.

I do find it comical how people on here try to squirm out of the fact - the inconvenient truth - that Canada and America would not exist were it not for the British Empire, which they are both products of; children of. They have no satisfactory comeback.

They discovered a land that already had millions of people in it? Cool. I think I'll drive up and discover Canada.

Just make sure you bring lots of money with you- payable to me.

My people, the Beakers, discovered the British Isles.

Maybe Julius Caesar beat them to it. I think it was all Celts in those days.

The Romans did beat the Danes to Britain. I was referencing how when the Danes (Vikings) "discovered" Britain the whole island became the playground of the Danes and all of the Britons their playthings.

The same reason why we speak French and a plethora of uniquely Canadian dialects.

English and French. There's a reason for that.

And we all know what that reason is, just as we all know why you use English Common Law, the Westminster system and the Queen - and it's not because you suddenly looked overseas one day, saw them, and decided of your own accord to adopt them.

How many languages do you speak? huh?

I speak one - English - the only language that you need to speak today to get anywhere in the world.

French, like France, is third-rate and no longer matters in the world.

And the light switches in north America are installed the right way Up is On!
No. Down is on. Up for on just makes no sense whatsoever, like reading right to left
