Iceland was called Iceland by Leif Erickson to keep people away. It was much milder year round than the to be named (by him) Greenland, which was a frozen waste as it felt no effects from the warmer currents.

I've seen picture of Maine and it sure looks nice although I'll bet it's rough in the winter time. Not to mention that Greenland is a much larger land mass, much of which is isolated from the warming effect of the ocean and also most of which is at much higher elevation than Iceland.

I think it would be okay with a nice fireplace , a big window to look out at the snowy scenes , a comfortable recliner, some good books to read and plenty of Irish coffee in the kitchen.Yep, don't think one would enjoy spending this past winter there!![]()
Actually when I lived in the Midwest, we had an outside wood burning furnace . On days that we would have a winter storm, I would fill the furnace and sit in front of the door under a tin roof and watch the fire as I listened to the snow lightly falling . I would sit there for the longest time in my coveralls just watching the snow fall and the fire. Didn't like driving in it or walking in it much but there is something kinda surreal the light tapping of the snow flakes hitting that tin roof.Still better on the west coast. Not much snow.

I found rain quite noisy in a shed with a tin roof with truss support only, snow not so much, unless wind driven.....hail....you need earplugs....lol
Wood sheds usually have tin roofs and one open side "South side". and a tarp cover in case of rain.... for better drying of the wood.Or, you know, go into the house instead of hanging out in the shed.![]()
