The thing I hate is not real socialism- Socialism means everyone working for the common good- what we call "socialism" is the people who feel like it working for the common good.
OK, so when you say you hate socialism, you're really talking about something completely different.

That's why conversations with you are so much fun!

Just don't serve hamburgers, coz I hate cauliflower.

Punishing people who don't work doesn't do anything but breed poverty and crime. I'd happily pay higher taxes if it meant eliminating poverty and having a better, safer society.

Oh Good LOrd!

The entitlement of the leftt.

Not paying deadbeats is not punishing them for being deadbeats, it is simply not rewarding them for being deadbeats.

Drugs, alcohol and nicotine the #1 cause of impoverishment in Canada.

There is no shortage of highly educated homeless and impoverished substance abusers.

for your information,
our Alberta governement could not get the books right, despite having multiple boom times.here in Alberta it is about the Conservative party,of course with 40 years of rule. With our new vision of Alberta is going to be about Alberta,it is going to be about sustainble bookeeping,no longer is there going to be so much division,Alberta is going to be whole again.(I know I may be deluded)
for your information, business is struggling under the Conservative structure, particularly in the Enviroment issues, movement is difficult under this structure, business should do better under the new design of new visions.
it has been horrible living under Conservative rule, and of course at present they are punishing Albertans for making their own decisons.I think Ms. Notely is going to need time to know those books, because I know they are a mess, big mess.

Dichotomous thinking. Reward/punish, moral/immoral. No middle ground, no neutral act or omission.

It's the language of extremists and politicians. Best exemplified by. . .

"If you're not with us, you're with the terrorists."

Expect debt while debt is cheap or a PST.

Or both.

Yeah, I misspoke- " I hate what people pretend is socialism! My hamburgers don't have cauliflower in them.

George may have been correct there. It can be construed as passive permission! :)

Drugs, alcohol and nicotine the #1 cause of impoverishment in Canada.

No doubt!

yea it's true. if youngrr voters became less apathetic cons would never get in office. older people are comforted in their status quo with their OAS, not thinking about the future or advancements in technology and science. not thinking of the real possibility of jobs becoming obsolete. etc

Your grasp of reality is absolutely astounding.

no that's not a fact of life. maybe your life. we're trying to evolve as a society. technology is making jobs unnecessary for humans, what are you not understanding about this?

There was a preacher by the name of Ludd a couple hundred years ago had the same opinion. Instead of plunking away on your technological marvel called a computer you should be carving your thoughts in a slate tablet to keep those tablet makers in business.

Number one cause of poverty is having children out of wedlock, i.e. single moms.

Seems the reaction in Alberta is pretty typical. when things are going well it's because of the free market spirit. A big pool of non-laziness. When things go south it's the governments problem, and all those free spirited hard workers want government to bail them out. Making $150k a year wasn't enough to create a non-gov independent future.
