You silly bugger. The dollar is dropping in value, with oil prices tanking, thousands of jobs are being lost which will further devalue the dollar. Pretty soon you won't be able to buy a loaf of bread with your life savings. Grow a garden, kill an animal. Those are skills you need when money is useless.

Over 20 percent of US children ‒ an estimated 16 million youths ‒ are on food stamps, according to the latest government figures. That number has almost doubled since the Great Recession began in 2007. Nearly a quarter are living below the poverty line.

Perhaps "National disgrace" is a little melodramatic. There's another way of looking food stamps.....................just a way of the "haves" helping the "have nots" below an arbitrarily set poverty line. I suppose without them more people might be encouraged to try harder to fend for themselves, but on the other hand, there are children in the equation who need protection. I guess the worst aspect of the situation is all the bureaucraps who benefit from them.

Yes yes yes! They are no longer the colored stamps they used to be. They are like ATM cards. Top dollar. SNAP Fraud is rampant... investigation into fraud is minimal. It is not in the states best interest to go after fraud for a variety of reasons.
