You are using Wiki which is a medium that depends on private donations of material. You again, took the opinion of other than the country's own publications, using Wiki which admits it needs correcting when the facts are wrong. By the way "SHE" manages to take on the lot of you and is most often is right, even though it affects none of you. I live here nearly six months of the year and most of you do not. Most of you obviously have not a clue of the politics here.OMG you have no clue.
Mistakes in fact, and simple nonsense.
1. The USA has the highest rate of private firearms ownership in the world, hands down. Switzerland is number 4.

2. The Swiss militia still keep their weapons at home, however they may store them at an armoury, if they so wish.
3. The FBI keep accurate stats on crimes committed, especially murder. They show a 50% drop in 20 years. . Keeping crime statistics from all over the USA is a major part of their mandate. They do so in conjunction with the Dep't of Justice, and their stats are quite simply unassailable.
4. Yes, there is licensing in Switzerland, but the people are encouraged to keep arms. Those who have done their military service are allowed to keep their assault rifles in civilian life, with only the full auto option removed.
5. Handgun shooting and ownership is also encouraged, and, although licensed, when Handgun Control claims the Swiss have "strict gun control", they are simply lying.
Try thinking of taxing the poor, and the middle class because the rich make the jobs and the money/wealth will drift down. How many wealthy do you think support the economy during a downturn. Take a look at how much tax revenue the gun manufacturers risk if reasonable laws are brought in. So my friends, enjoy your Xmas and hope the Canadian government does not move in the same. direction. I will buy stock in gun manufacturing in that case. LOL.
