Most people don't give much thought to their death. Might be a good thing to think about. Preparing. Picking an age.

I think about it every day if only for a few seconds but I dont have an age picked out. Im hoping that by not picking one it means I'll just never die. :p

Spending health care dollars on people over 75 is like putting new hub caps on a 72 Pinto.
no not true....it depends entirely upon each individual body....some 40 year old over weight smoker, who drinks, and never excercises is not as good of an investment as a healthy 75 year old who may well have another 15 good years or more to go

I'll hang around until someone thinks I will be a good science project. Then I will check out. Already let them have my body when I am done with it.

If you chose to delay taking your CPP till age 70, then you gotta live to about 83 to break even, otherwise the Gov comes out ahead.

I say 83, but it could be anywheres between age 80 and 83, depending on when you chose to delay your CPP.

In any case, there are economic considerations that one has to take into account even when you die, lol.

Ever notice we could be talking about the weather and one of the group comes out
and slams Obamacare? Just gives you that wonderful feeling don't it?
First of all I intend to be around as long as possible I want lots of the pension checks.
Secondly Obamacare didn't go far enough other than that its ok for now but it needs
to be strengthened in the near future. That is enough to have some near expire just
thinking about it

I'll never reach 75 but if my health improves by some miracle and am able to reach that age in reasonable shape, I'll gladly take it. Hopefully, we'll have one of those nationwide bullet trains by then and I'll celebrate it by taking one last romp around Prospect Park, Brooklyn.

I've been thinking of being put on ice!

"Spending health care dollars on people over 75 is like putting new hub caps on a 72 Pinto."-Very poor analogy........... More like putting a 2014 Rolls Royce engine in a '72 Pinto.

Are you 25 now? It'll be a miracle to see a bullet train in the US within 50 years.

If this is called Phase I it is supposed to last 120 years, Phase II is about 360M years before we are wise enough to make the next transition. As long as we learn something new dailly then it isn't a waste of time and skin.

Spreading to other homo saps what we learn is even better.
Perhaps that '1' at the bottom of the page is confusing us so that we don't know there is at least one more page involved in the 'get smart' catogory. You can buy a book, you haven't got the knowledge in the book until the pages are dog-eared.

Hey,,,,I have had knee replacements, cataract operations. I am somewhat over 70 and feel I have paid enough taxes over time to pay for my operations and at least 10 other people's. I have had over 10 years use out of those knees and certainly very happy with being able to do without glasses for the first time since first grade. Certainly cheaper for the government than supporting me in a nursing home because I am able to walk without pain and see where I am going.
