I havent really paid attention to pop country in a long time. When I first saw that video I hadnt heard or seen anything from Kenny Chesney since about 2002. My first thought was "holy hell he has changed." I know he always had the beach song thing going for him but this is pretty "heavy" compared to say "No Shoes No Shirt No Problems" or the whole genre. This is more country/rock than most stuff that is usually put under the country/rock genre. Not a bad thing, just surprising.

I got into HBOs True Detective which started in January. Really liked the opening theme song which is more of a folk/country mix.

That is one of those songs that doesn't have a bad version. One of my favourites was sung by Roy Acuff back in the 1930s. Johnny Cash and Hank Snow sung it too.
