Even back in the days when I played this stuff on country radio I questioned whether
some of it was really country. Never used the term country and western thought.
western is different its has a whole different road than country
Western was the old Carter music and the Texas Swing etc. Country is more to the
blues end of the scale without dipping into folk music although some of it overlaps
to be sure. I suppose it is all country depending on who is listening and how old they
are. Country music will be around for generations to come it deals with life experiences.

"Honky tonk" was a good term for it!

Q: How many cowboys does it take to change a light bulb ?
A: Five. One to change the bulb and four to sing about how much they miss the old one.
