there is a certain minimum level of civilization, that we cannot go below. Killing fifty people is already bad enough. Putting their heads on poles for their families to see them is barbarism at it's worst. This is not islam. It is insanity.

islam is insanity.

Oh ffs.... Oh look at the evil Muslims, they're all the same.... Booga booga.

How many of you people were cheering these guys on as they started to revolt against the Syrian Government?

None of you liked the Syrian Government because they were a threat to Israel and a revolt must mean that the people wanted democracy, freedom, apple pie and all that crap... And it was a blow to your evil Islam.

Now rather than some sort of order and a nation that could be talked with to some degree, you guys cheered on these other guys who are even worse.

How many of you were cheering on the revolts in Libya? Hell even Canada jumped in to help the revolt and push out Mr. Garfunkle'Go'Daggy using military force.... Then everybody buggered off and allowed more extremists to get a foothold.

And Egypt? Now there was a great show of freedom and democracy everybody supported.... Until the Muslim Brotherhood stepped in and tried to take over, then that democracy went right out the window.

How about Hamas?

Israel and the west didn't like Arafat even though near the end of his rule he was trying to broker peace and stop all the bloodshed.... Yet Israel, whom many of you lick the corn from their azz far too often, decided to help Hamas to take over and get rid of Arafat.... We all know how well that turned out.

How interesting it is to see you guys praise these people when they try and do something you want them to do by removing the people you don't like, but at the same time open the door for these even worse extremists to take over, and then you guys finger wag at the crazy evil Muslims.

Indirectly, many of you cheered these guys on... Some of you directly.... But when the sh*t hits the fan, you wash your hands clean of it all with your short term memories and suddenly the enemy of your enemy who was your friend is an enemy too.

Yet?

Wonder what they all secretly think about beheadings.

I'll ask one next time I bump into one.

I'm starting to think the guillotine is a superior form of execution than lethal injection, based on the last two botched attempts in the US.

I dunno, there's plenty of Muslims in my neighbourhood and I haven't seen a single head on a pole yet.

Same here. Plenty in my classes throughout university as well.

Im not excusing the Syrians but really, are you saying Christians (and many other religious groups) have never mounted heads on pikes or walls in large numbers? They have. War tends to bring out the worst in people. The Syrians are in a lose lose situation. Those soldiers were fighting for a tyrannical dictator who no doubt has done worse things to his people, but these groups don't seem to be any better. No matter who wins, the average Syrian loses.

Religion in general is insane.

Hey, remember that time I beheaded your father and all those other guys?

Good times.

Piano-wire hooked to something that can go 5kph faster than the guilty criminal can run.

This would be the same work the when the Syrian soldier that surrendered i Iraqi forces when rebes took over the border crossing so they could get the newest arms shipment into the country/ (wire-guided TOW rounds that could target a parked car on the 'secure side' and the detonation would take on the appearance of a car bomb at first glance. A tank round is going to leave a puncture mark that goes from the outside to the inside.
Put on a new t-shirt and make your way down south into Iraq under the ISIS flag and you get to pick up Mossad trained people who have been 'doing things in Iran' and that is put on hold and this 'pause' (while routing many in the area to make it look like 'the plan' when Syria will get the old rebels but now funded and accompanied by the forces that were being used in Iran) Turkey might not be so keen to arm them and Jordan is too closely watched to be able to do things in secret. Iraq would be the 'leaky border' unless Russia steps up and feeds Syrian jets the location and the targets are chosen by the ones following the action real-time rather than the pilot who is in hostile country for the first time. (Su-25's firing the latest guided munition Russia has in production)

Surely ISIS won't be recognized as a state... ever but when does a terrorist organization become a state? When they execute people and put their heads on poles? Seems to me that just killing soldiers is every day warfare, excuting prisoners is just your average warcrime, but heads on polls? That's statecraft boyo.

A sign to those left alive what their fate is should they 'buck the ones in charge'. Payback for the ISIS members killed in Iraq as payback for Israeli jets killing a few Syrian soldiers in an operation that was in direct support of goals ISIS was trying to gain. That air support did accomplish that for a short time. Israeli warplanes (and other munitions) would certainly be used again if the need called for it. That could backfire in that Russia knows the locations that are ISIS command stations and that could be used to target the leaders and the foot-soldiers would all run away, south through Iraq would make their capture easy and their recorded interview before being let through would become part of a database at the ICC that reviews all the material and follows through with the appropriate action.

Maybe all of these Tyrants people keep complaining about and who were executing their own people were actually executing these extremists and trying to keep everything in check so the rest of the people could live in a slightly more peaceful environment.

Maybe people outside of the country, like all of us in the "West", were only told they were executing this person or that, but never really heard any of the finer details except for what we were told by our politicians and media.

We sometimes hear they were "Enemy's of the State" but think of it as just propaganda.... and now that we "Helped" and supported these people, we're seeing exactly what these Tyrants were dealing with.

It's funny though, as we decry all these Tyrants for executing their own people.... meanwhile the US still executes its own people and for many, it's ok.

A lot of us, including me. I dislike murderous tyrants. Oops, I shoulda known better than to expect them to be sane.

.

Israel has been decidedly neutral in that conflict. They understood better than the rest of us "Better the Devil you know"........

Ahh...I have no regrets over Libya. We OWED Gaddafi.....we destroyed his country 25 years too late.

Yep.

Silly us, we keep hoping Islam is NOT inherently insane, and we are consistently proven wrong.
