Why are many Christians so intolerant of other religions and spiritual paths?

You do? What are they and where do they come from?

well I can't speak for every Atheist. Angles are all around us. they are both physical and philosophical.

My favourite is the 90degree angle. It's both a ergonomic angle and a great temperature. I'm not a fan of angles as used in arguments.

Fear and tradition I suppose.

Remember the good old days, when parents would grieve when their son or daughter married not out of their religion but merely out of the denomination of that religion? What if Johnny or Betsy were to "turn"?

How do denominations account for the various sects? How do they know if they are on the right path? Or does it not matter to them?

I am at a loss watching what is unfolding in Iraq. Suni, ****e killing one another.
I don't know the difference but it is incredible what these people do to each other in the name of allah.

I don't think the Irish conflict was entirely due to difference of Catholic and Protestant, but it was certainly used.

It's horrible what people become when they are programmed by people in religious power.

lol S h i t e is censored .

No, that's not what you said. You wrote "all the masters agree you cannot know [my emphasis] God." That's not the same as not defining him, and in fact all the great religions do attempt to define him to some degree by specifying some of his attributes, like omniscience, omnipotence, infinitely wise, just, kind, forgiving, and all the rest of it. So ya, that's what I think. You can't even cite yourself accurately, I see no reason to take your claims seriously.

You think what people say or don't say isn't important? People are claiming I said things I didn't and criticizing me on that basis, and yes, that matters to me, so I'll take issue with it.
I stand corrected Dexter and apologize .

Yeah, it's really tragic what's going on.

But how does one explain another denomination? What's the justification / reason for having so many different Christian religions? Protestant, JW's, Mennonites, mormins, 7th day adventists, Latter day saints, etc.

Human frailty, mistranslations, misinterpretations, and a desperate need for a feeling of belonging, of feeling important, to cover up their feelings of inadequacies and insignificance. People are different and they need all these different denominations to suit their different perspectives. MOst people are too lazy to do their own research so they rely on "experts" to tell them what to think and believe (religious, political, science, philosophy).

Don't be too quick to call twit. Wally loves handing out the reds for little reason. Dunno if I gave him that particular one, but I do try to red his every post. Twit for twat, eh wat.
90% of all reds I have received are from Wally. I refuse to lower myself to his level of ignorance by reciprocating.
