Navy's doing what it can. Beefing up activity in the Baltic and the Eastern Med. We're strengthening Poland. More moves in the offing.

I know you and Colpy pretty much hate Obama, Eagle. But you aren't so far out that you've decided you love Putin and Assad, and hope for death and destruction in Syria and Ukraine, as long as it embarrasses Obama.

Wish I could say the same for everybody here.

No one here loves Putin, et al. But no foreigner is attempting to transform traditional Americans out of existence. The struggle is within the US, not overseas. Anything which harms the credibility of American leftists is a good thing.

I don't hate Obama... he's an awful president and I CANNOT stand US Libs.

As for Syria...our enemies are fighting each other. I cannot stand Assad and I do not much care for the people he's fighting against. That's where I grab the phone cam and shout "WORLDSTAR! Woooorld staaaar!"

And I don't like Putin either. Too bad... I've always liked the Russian people. Their women are BEAUTIFUL and as a people they make the best clips on the Net.

It wasn't a good choice of words. Perhaps "despise" would have been better.

You know I agree with you on that. But you're not happy about it. That's to your credit.

Tell me about it. I had a Russian immigrant girlfriend. Wonderful people, horrible government. I wish them well.

Although I preferred McCain, I was actually caught up in the wave of emotion after his election, you lnow, that entire hopey-changey thing.

That was before we knew he was going to attempt to destroy the USA financially, by creating a debt they will never be able to dismiss.

That was before he went around the world bowing to every tin pot murderer he could find.

That was before he decided the Constitution didn't count, and he could make up law as he went along.

That was before he decided the Second Amendment didn't apply.

That was before he started shipping guns to Mexican drug cartels.

That was before the IRS, in consultation with the WH and collusion with the DoJ, started punishing political opponents.

That was before the Benghazi lies, and an innocent man jailed.

That was before Fort Hood became an incident of "workplace violence"

I could go on, but you get the idea.

You are saddled with a wimp, when what you need is Teddy Roosevelt.

There are people here taking this with laughter if the pushing and shoving gets out
of hand I might lose some of my grandchildren to bullets. Nothing funny about this.
Europe needs resources, America needs a cause and Putin is playing bull**** poker
with the globe. War has started on less.
And how is Obama different from Putin? Obama is educated and believes in some
form of restraint. Putin is the raw bull face bully and sooner or later he has to be
challenged.

Too bad none of the EU governments have the balls to protect one of their own but, as usual look to the US to do the heavy lifting.

And it's none of our d@mn business.

... time for me (and others) to send off a little letter to the White House to tell the Prez to mind our own business while Europeans settle their own affairs ...

Sure we do. We could and it would be a blood bath for all.

They didn't? Still can't get over that you didn't see a Vietnam? Too bed eh?

lol... Don't tell me you're a wannabee Australian now?

Just because your wife pulled you from Canada by your nose to Australian doesn't make you one.

Yeah... ever since Canada led the indiscriminate carpet bombing of Libya, led an illegal war, and assisted in assassinating another countries leader you've been all bent out of shape.

Invading their 3rd World neighbor. Big balls there.

Typical of you to resort to personal insults when you've got nothing worthwhile to debate with.

I could refute, but it would be throwing tennis balls at a tank. Every single item on your list was also committed by presidents I'd bet the rent you approve of, namely, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush II. And some of them were NOT committed by Obama, or even by his administration, like the IRS thing. And spare me the "I didn't praise Nixon/Reagan/Bush II for his monumental f*ck-up." Whether you know it or not, there's a huge difference between "didn't praise" and the sheer, foaming-at-the-mouth hatred wingers throw at Obama.

I am bemused by the sheer rancour of the reaction, as I was, by the way, with Sal's reaction to Bush II. And from people who don't even live in the U.S.

I don't think much of Obama either. I've found him to be a huge disappointment. But I try to have a little perspective.

Well, that's true. I LOVE the way he ended the Russo-Japanese War by roaring in with all guns blazing, and then beating the Tsar and the Emperor to death with his huge d*ck!

Alaska was never ours. US bought it off Russia.
Alaska is safe fro a Putin annexation.

Ex-Russian Alaska 'Too Cold' to Annex, Putin Jokes — Naharnet

Russia's President Vladimir Putin gives his annual televised question-and-answer session with the nation in Moscow, on April 17, 2014
In a patriotic fervor, Russians are asking President Vladimir Putin to bring back the U.S. state of Alaska, sold off to the United States in Tsarist times. Putin's answer? It's too cold.
During Putin's annual marathon phone-in session Thursday, when Russians pose questions to the Russian leader, a pensioner asked him to possibly follow the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine with the taking of Alaska.
"Faina Ivanovna, dear, why do you need Alaska?" Putin asked the pensioner.
"We have a northern country -- 70 percent of our territory are in the north and the far north," he noted.
"Alaska is cold too," he said. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

Good Lord!!

Nixon was crooked, and committed one of the most serious mistakes in the 20th century.....opening up China.

Reagan was better, but my attitude towards him when he was in was that he was a complete idiot.

You need to read up a little on TR. One of the most honourable and straightforward men to ever be President, and definitely the most intelligent. I suggest Edmund Morris' trilogy on the man, or Doris Kearns' The Bully Pulpit.

TR DESERVED his Nobel Prize. You know, the one he got for solving the Russo-Japanese War with nothing but his d^^K. (insert rolled eyes here)

How was Nixon crooked? He was a pretty damn good President.

He was the one who really started out-of-control deficits.

I've forgotten more about TR than you'll ever know. He battles it out with Jefferson for most informed, intelligent President. Among other things, he wrote 38 books, some of which are still standard references in their fields.

He certainly did. By employing what you no doubt roll your eyes at, i.e., "soft power."

You want a Rambo president, TR ain't your best example.

.

I sincerely doubt that, as I have read about a half dozen books on the guy..........

You, however, obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about in this instance.......
