I'm pretty sure the reverse is more accurate. My wife is convinced that she has 3 kids rather than two. One just happens to be older by a large amount of years and male.
(What can I say? I still like toys and being mischievous on occasion).
That cuz us boys never really grow up, we just get bigger.

ride the old D train to Coney Island:

or ride on a trackless trolley:

Buy a fistful of candy for a nickel.

Or buy delicious Good Humor ice cream on the cheap from one of these trucks:

Or sing along with the old commercial tune:

♫ ♫ ♫ I'm the ice cream man who sells Good Humor - the ice cream kids all favor ... ♫ ♫ ♫

Talk with a telephone operator to connect you with a number not on your party

Using a crank phone, standing on a milk crate so you can speak into the mouthpiece, and tell Sarah, (yes, that was her name, just like Petticoat Junction, or was it Green Acres? ) who you wanted to talk to because you couldn't remeber their three digit phone number, and she knew who you meant.

I remember having pellet gun war games where we used little hard berries to shoot at each other.

can you say 'ow'?

We used real pellets

We played cowboys & indians with pellet guns a few times. Until some idiot had to go to the hospital to get a pellet removed. Then our pellet guns got removed.

We wore winter jackets to protect ourselves from that, but you could never trust our cousin Larry to not try to take the occasional leg or head shot, he never did, but....

Cut class with a buddy who, like yourself only has a student pilot permit, rent an airplane, and fly together to another airport, to borrow another airplane, with permission of course, sort of, and go solo together, in formation. Yeah, that sounds a little extreme, and bizarre, but it did happen, and quite often, and was almost legal at the time. It was the cutting classes we got the most $hit for.

Northern Ontario,
The one room school I went to from grade 1 to 5 was near a lake.....
Taking a run to the lake during morning recess to check the lines, and we were allowed to cook any fish we caught on an outdoor... wood stove for lunch.
Didn't have to share with the old maid that was the teacher.....she didn't like fish lol

Okay I remember party telephone lines, sort of like three way calling but without the invitation. I remember station wagons with the flip up seats in the back that they would stick us kids in, sans seat belt. I remember when Lite-Brite was all the rage.

Hot wiring was easy when the switch was in the dash and there was either a start button or a pedal on the floor. Remember "three on the tree" shift, when the bushings got worn.Being able to push start an automatic.A good tire was one that would hold air.
