Read the book, there are several English translations around, it's full of exhortations to jihad and killing unbelievers, the enemies of Allah, and gloating references to the horrors awaiting them in the next life. I think there are only two statements in it that can be taken as urging civilized behaviour, one about respecting what it calls the People of the Book (i.e. Jews and Christians), and another about waging war only in defence of Islam. The latter at least can be readily rationalized to justify carrying a war of aggression to the enemies of Islam wherever they're perceived to be. I don't know how they weasel around the former, but true believers have never found it difficult to rationalize whatever they want to do in the name of their belief.
If you can't get hold of the Quran, try Sam Harris' little book, The End of Faith, he describes in detail, with verse references, what the Quran says on these matters. Failing that, read the first five books of the Old Testament and imagine Jews and Christians behaving exactly and literally as prescribed there, that'll give you an idea of the flavour of the Quran.

In her piece, Inger Støjberg criticises Danish Muslims who actively try to shield themselves from Danish values and norms and who think that their religious beliefs should not be allowed to be mocked.
