A new email from the One Law for All coalition run by ex-Muslim Mariam Namazie. Very interesting, as it focusses on the issue that may puzzle many -- as it has me -- that is: why does the Left support repressive, misogynist, homophobic, sectarian, anti-Semitic Islamism...

Siding with the Oppressor: The Pro-Islamist Left

A new report by One Law for All entitled “Siding with the Oppressor: The Pro-Islamist Left” [pdf] exposes Stop the War Coalition, Respect Party, Unite Against Fascism and individuals such as Ken Livingstone and George Galloway and their agenda and methods.
This section of the Left uses accusations of racism and Islamophobia and a conflation of Muslim with Islamist in order to defend Islamism and Islam rather than out of any real concern for prejudice against Muslims or their rights, particularly since Muslims or those labelled as such are the first victims of Islamism and on the frontlines of resisting it.

The report has been written as a companion volume to “Enemies not Allies: The Far-Right”. Like the far-Right which ‘despises’ multiculturalism yet benefits from its idea of difference to scapegoat the ‘other’ and promote its own form of white identity politics, the pro-Islamist Left also uses multiculturalism to side with the oppressor by viewing the ‘Muslim community’ and ‘Muslim world’ as homogeneous entities thereby ignoring and silencing dissenters.
This politics of betrayal sides with the Islamic far-Right and the oppressor. Challenging this perspective is especially important given its wide acceptance as ‘progressive’ in mainstream society.
Any principled point of view must oppose all forms of fascism, including Islamic fascism, and instead side with the countless people, including Muslims, who are fighting and challenging Islamism here in Europe as well as the Middle East, North Africa and the world.

I really wish there were an effective, international governing body for human rights violations. I'd love to see countries that excuse these kinds of acts, taken to task. Because let's be honest, religious insanity runs amok without government to nip it in the bud.

Banned From Britain: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer

Pamela Geller announced at her Atlas Shrugs blog Wednesday morning that "the British government has banned us (herself and fellow Stop Islamization of America activist Robert Spencer) from entering the country ... In not allowing us into the country solely because of our true and accurate statements about Islam, the British government is behaving like a de facto Islamic state. The nation that gave the world the Magna Carta is dead." She has posted the letter (Page 1; Page 2) from the British Home Office Secretary (UK's equivalent of our Homeland Security) telling her that her presence would not be "conducive to the public good."


A later post at Geller's blog has a collection of press reports which readers should review for the predictable signs of bias. One which isn't there is from the Associated Press, written by James Brooks (bolds are mine):


US ANTI-ISLAM ACTIVISTS BANNED FROM ENTERING UK
Two American anti-Islam activists were banned Wednesday from entering Britain following reports they were planning to speak at a far-right rally this weekend.


Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, who founded the organization Stop the Islamization of America, had been planning to attend an English Defense League march in London.


The Home Office said in a statement that Speller and Geller were "subject to an exclusion decision" and would not be allowed to enter the U.K.


"The Home Secretary will seek to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the U.K. is not conducive to the public good," it said.

... Spencer and Geller were due to attend an EDL march Saturday to mark Armed Forces Day. The march was set to finish in the London neighborhood where soldier Lee Rigby was killed last month by alleged Islamic extremists.
Spencer said in an email that the Home Office's decision amounts to "craven capitulation."


Matthew Collins, a spokesman from anti-racism campaigners Hope Not Hate, who had opposed Spencer and Geller entering the Britain, said his group was "absolutely delighted" by the Home Office's decision.

"Free speech doesn't give you a right to incite hatred against people," Collins said.


... Spencer and Geller are best known in the U.S. for their opposition to the construction of a mosque near the ground zero site in New York.

Radical Muslims post bounty on bloggers, Facebook users



An Islamic jihadist website, Islamic Socialist NetWork (ISN), based out of the U.K. was found on Tuesday where Muslims in the U.K., Australia, and Canada posted cash bounties on some operators of counter-jihad bloggers and Facebook users for speaking out about Islam.

On their website, photos of Facebook page administrators on “Wanted” posters were posted along with cash rewards in various amounts of up to a million dollars for personal information such names and addresses of where the operators reside.

The web site was first revealed by Schuyler Montague of Sharia Unveiled, an educational organization that teaches the truth about radical Islam, Sharia law, and history, while they were researching a story on the recent removal of Counter-jihad pages by Facebook.

Montague said, “While researching our story yesterday on the recent removal of Counter-jihad pages by Facebook, we uncovered some very disturbing information. In an attempt to locate the source of the Islamic onslaught against the freedom of expression, we ventured down the rabbit hole of Islamic hate… and what we discovered when we got there, tucked away in a dark corner, was a website operated by a terrorist organization called the Islamic Socialist Network.”

“It appears that the Islamic Socialist Network has created a “Hit List” of Counterjihad webpages to attack. And, if this wasn’t bad enough, we discovered this hit list also extends to the administrators of these web pages, as well.”

The United Kingdom has every right to prevent entry of any non-British citizen, for any reason they wish, or no reason at all.

Now, if only they would start keeping out the Islamist loonies.

That is true. And keeping out people of unacceptable political inclinations is perfectly legitimate. Keeping out Islamists is fine. Keeping out Muslims is not.

The trouble is in distinguishing them. Jihadists seeking to enter a country don't red-flag themselves.

Let in 100,000 Muslims and even at 1% you have 1000 Muslims who might aid and abet Jihad or may actively carry out terrorism.
