Now that is a stretch.
At one point, CRTC chairman Jean-Pierre Blais suggested that Sun’s problems in
developing an audience may be because "Canadians may just not want to subscribe.
How do you respond?"
But in twist to the debate, the CRTC’s Blais asked Sun News spokespeople at
the hearing why the channel isn’t offered on basic cable on Videotron, the
Quebec cable provider owned by Quebecor, the same company that owns Sun
News.
According to a tweet from Michael Hennessy, head of the Canadian Media
Production Association, Sun News offered no answer to the question.
“We have a growing demand for consumer choice. And,
frankly, we have the advent of ubiquitous distribution of programming through
the Internet,” he [Blais, Chairman, CRTC] Despiteall of those changes, quite fundamental changes, why do you think we shouldturn back the clock and give you this high penetration, which seems… out ofstep, I guess, with the evolution
In a speech on March 8, Mr. Blais told the Canadian Media Production Association
bluntly: “You will need to compete, just like any other sector.”
This Information - Québec Film and Television Council - Montréal and Unions answers that question. But in twist to the debate, the CRTC’s Blais asked Sun News spokespeople at the hearing why the channel isn’t offered on basic cable on Videotron, the Quebec cable provider owned by Quebecor, the same company that owns Sun News.

True, but unfortunately, you are not going to get accurate news from any mass media corporation. What is popular in modern culture aims at the lowest common denominator. That would indicate the intelligent quotient of the general population is far below what might be considered common sense. No it's not. Faux fans are always pointing to the popularity of the channel as if that has some relevance to the quality or accuracy of the news.
Not quite....
Close but no ceegar;-)
I would like to thank one and all for playing and keeping that thread on front page as I surmised you would when I saw who was on this morning that was left leaning and if anyone had bothered to check all the time that the thread was in the top ten, there was at least a dozen non member watching and possibly half of them were search engine bots so I can only guess how many views that video got with your involuntary help:lol:
Thanks again my friends....that was the reason for all the greenies![]()
