So in your opinion, racism against one group is fine, yet "racism" against a religion is not.

Never said that, who's "implying" now? It is YOU that allows one and not the other.

Democracy is failing. Too few people are voting because they are disillusioned by what the main political parties are saying. It doesn't matter which party you vote for, you are attacked... despite the fact that they are all indistinguishable when they are actually in office. The only difference between any of the parties are their rhetoric.

Free speech and press are also in danger, as illustrated wonderfully in this thread.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight  what a pile of crap. If sun news can't make it on their own, then let em die. No one is shutting them down. If they go down it will be because they can't get the viewership. Plain and simple.

Again, you are implying something. What you seem to imply in this case is that my opinion doesn't matter.

no, your opinion doesn't matter to ME. It obviously matters to yourself and may matter to others. It doesn't, however, matter to me.

That is uncalled for and racist. Not acceptable on this site.

Pretty sad state of affairs when there are those that disguise their bigotry in such a manner... I'm glad that you called a spade-a-spade on this

If it is unfair why dosen't Quebecor run SunTV on it's own cable?

It wants consumers to pick up their 18 million in losses, thats why.

How free market of them.

Ummm... The CBC burns through in excess of $1 billion a year to jam their corporate agenda down our throats... What makes them so special that they have a lock on the market and spew their lefty agenda?

The only ones that like to split humans into different "races" are racist themselves.

Isn't that exactly what you're doing?

Could have said he was sorry instead of this nonsense.

.. Or, you could simply man-up and retract your myopic statements... Better yet, stop the racist comments all together and do us all a favor

Interesting.

Which Germany does he like?

The one that killed millions or the one reformed by the socialist admins in the US after the war?

You are really are a loser, aren't you?

SUN is low quality, low budget, low intelligence and low standards.

You get what your tax credits pay for and nothing more.

Tax credits...isn't that a Left left left LEFT left left left thing?

Lefty stations are suppose to ask for government handouts.

Really? That's your justification on this?

Sun was suppose to be different.

I never realized that there are differing expectations on the equality front between left-leaning and right-leaning individuals in Canada.

Interesting, indeed.

I'll ask you the same question the CRTC asked Sun....why doesn't Quebecor run Sun news on there own cable company.

Instead they want rate payers to pay for their 18 million shortfall.

How about we move back a step and ask why the CBC receives 10 figures in funding from the Feds in the first place... 18 million is a drop in the bucket relative to the money-pit that is the Ministry of Truth

No need to move back.

Sun tv is a private network with private values.

Why does it want to force rate payers to make up for its deficit and the un-answered question. Why doesnt Quebecor run it on its own cable company.

Seems no one here wants to address this.
once again..there is no leftie easy street tax credit in it for them that's why.

Great.. Then you'll have no problem with Harper continuing his move to keep chopping-down their OPEX budgets.

Oh, BTW - what exactly makes you think that the CBC represents the values of the average Canadian?.. Awfully arrogant to assume that they do.

Why does it want to force rate payers to make up for its deficit and the un-answered question. Why doesnt Quebecor run it on its own cable company.

Why not? The rate payers are being forced to support the CBC in a much larger manner.

Andem still can't answer why Quebecor does not have suntv on their own cable company.

I'm not on the board of directors of Quebecor and thus I can't give you a definitive answer, but let's use our brains for just one moment, please. Quebecor owns Vidéotron, a majority Francophone cable provider. Sun News is an English-language news network.

Am I the only one connecting the dots? Have I gone mad?

That would be like opening a French news station in B.C. and expecting the people there to pay that extra 29 cents a month for the local cable company to carry it on their basic package.....

There are several programs on MSNBC, CNN, and yes even Fox and Sun that I don't watch but I still dish out that extra money to get the package and CPAC is there as a public service and the only time I ever watch it is to get a good laugh during "Question Period"
Same goes for the Evangelical Channels....I never watch them but still pay for them............

Actually it doesn't. I'm merely pointing out that popular does not equal quality. If it did, Jersey Shore would be considered a quality show. But I do thank you for recognizing my statements as unbiased.

So... you missed the sarcasm.

As you called it FAUX news you are not a good judge on the quality and accuracy of FOX because you are biased.

Is that clear enough?

Second of all, I'm always open to reasoned debate--otherwise I wouldn't be here. Sun News isn't for people who like to think, it's for people who want to be told what to think.

All news "tells people what to think" in that they are all presenting factual information from a perspective. Long gone are the days when the news was presently in a dry, factual tone with little to no embellishment. Every breaking news story now has a theme song and graphic title sequence, irrespective of which channel you watch your news on. To lay that kind of label solely upon Sun News is no different than those that lay it upon CNN or CBC or Fox, it is bias, pure and simple.

That there are people who choose not to see beyond the rhetoric that any news channel is reporting, that's their problem. Frankly I've given up on televised news altogether and form my opinions based on written news from multiple sources and only after actually giving it some thought.

Opinions expressed, in my opinion, based upon the political perspective of any news agency, whether real or perceived, has little or nothing to do with actually thinking. It is, I believe, a reflection that it is political discourse itself that has gone mad. A very small portion of people with loud and often times obnoxious voices, who commandeer all political discussion and assign each and every issue based on whether it fits into a very small, strictly defined box and who get very, very agitated when you question them.

You did by stating that the "whitey" comment was racist and not welcome. All the while you allow rampant bigotry towards Muslims as a whole.

Very few attack Islam as a whole on this forum.

And you consistently attack Americans as a whole. Time to get off your high horse.

But ain't it fun to watch some folks get their panties in a twist over it....
Like the LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT...guy?

In all honesty, while I can absolutely appreciate the humour in the absurdity of what gets said at times, I'm finding it all rather predictable lately and often times quite boring. Trying to talk to someone who's that locked in to a mindset has all the thrill of having a discussion with a turnip.

:D
