Today is the best day of my life!

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!
There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today... but I did! And because I did, I’m going to celebrate!
Today, I’m going to celebrate what a great life I have had so far; the accomplishments, the many blessings, and even the hardships, because they have served to make me stronger.
I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at the Creators seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds. Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice. Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I’ll make someone smile. I’ll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don’t even know.
Today, I’ll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I’ll tell a child how special he is, and I’ll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her/him, and how much she/he means to me.
Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don’t have, and start being grateful for all the wonderful things the Creator has already given me. I’ll remember that to worry is just a waste of time, because my faith in the Great Spirit and his plan ensures everything will be just fine.
And tonight, before I go to bed, I’ll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise Him for these magnificent treasures.
As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Great Spirit for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

Oh all you 'glass half full' people, I only have one question. Just what exactly is your glass half full of?

Oh well, TGIF at least. I'm on board with that.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... it is getting worse out there by the minute. On the other hand in here, coffee is filtering, toast is toasting, cat is playing, and book is waiting. *happy dance*

Love that Cliffy...

All them early risers make me tired. Just starting my first cup at 8 am here:smile:
I haven't slept in until 8 for years and years. Looking forward to when I can though. Regardless I usually start looking at the clock around 5 ish. I never use the alarm. Never have.

That's me too. Regardless of what time I go to sleep I'm still awake by 6am.

Of course on the rare, rare, rare occasions that I snooze beyond that on a Saturday or a Sunday, those are usually the days when someone calls me at 7am because I'm "usually up anyway".

Sigh, sometimes you just can't win for losing, lol.

piss and vinegar. coffees brewin', toast is digestin, and it is thawin' outside. When it gets light out, I'll walk a hundred feet from the cabin and take in the view of the majestic Monashee mountain range on the other side of the Arrow Lakes and say Hi! to the morning Sun.

Say Hi for me too. I doubt I'll be seeing any of that here today!

Worked shift work most of my life, so my circadian clock is totaly screwed.....but perfect for a retired guy;-)
Yes I know a lot of people like that. Shift work is hard on the body.

lmao... yes I can see how that would happen...most of my life I had quite flexible morning schedules. Now with call ins and contract work I am up by 6 at the latest. Always ready to go out the door by 7:15. I knew today would be probably be a closed-down day and had planned on sleeping in... it just didn't happen. I was still up by 6:10. You must really be getting blasted too. Everyone on Facebook right through our corridor is saying how horrific it is out there. You are snow belt.

It's pretty ugly out there, I won't lie. So far everything is still up and running....ish, lol. We'll see how the day progresses I suppose. It's supposed to move eastward but right now it's coming down pretty hard.

Me too Das; for 10 or so years, then got laid off. Thank Whasshisname.

THEN straight days for 30 years. Bit of nasty weather from time to time, but all I had to do is think of the graveyard shift, and the sun came out, birds were singing, grass was greening............even in a - 25 blizzard..

;-)

Usually just water, lots of it. Works well.

Moderation is the law, balance is the way, stay on the road, the ditches are full of bones.

The glass is always full, half bitter, half sweet

even the half fullers can contribute

i like to smile and frown just the right amount

Reads like a load of Dale Carnegie bull.

Used to be in the hotel business and we'd have crew of those losers shuffle through every few months celebrating whatever it is they celebrate @ the end of the course-Man Alive what a bunch of zombies-about a millimeter deep and made of wood to boot.
