If anything, they swing left and tend to favour the Liberals/NDP.

Spence spokesman suggests audit is wrong

Spence's spokesman, Danny Metatawabin, suggested that the audit was "absolutely," wrong but wouldn't comment further on its contents.

He also agreed with a suggestion that the audit was released to discredit Spence.

"The government's doing that," he said. "They're trying to undermine the process, the movement of the people."

"You have to understand what we're doing here. It's for all First Nations communities under the treaty, the nation to nation relationship," he said. "We should be undermining the prime minister. We should be undermining the Department of Indian Affairs for creating that injustice."

Either they have receipts or they haven't and if they haven't someone should be in jail! -:)

What disturbs me is that I'm a pretty bright guy and I can't make sense of this stuff. What's going on at Attawapiskat? I don't know, I've seen too many conflicting reports. What does Chief Spence want? I don't know, I've seen too many conflicting reports. What is Idle No More up to? I don't know, I've seen too many conflicting reports,

That's kind of the point. Everybody, from the Feds right on down to the band leadership wants to keep hold of their little piece of the pie. It is, at it's heart, a political power struggle. The problem is, beneath all of that, are some very real problems that get overshadowed by it.

though it does seem clear to me that blocking bridges and highways is a stupid tactic, all it'll do is annoy the people whose support and empathy you need.
That's always a double edged sword. Any protest, strike or movement that affects the general population has to handled in the right way. At the end of the day, this is all political and as the general public holds all the cards as they hold the vote, everybody plays to sympathies of the public.

What I find unfortunate and unfair is that, up against the big PR machine of the government, small groups sometimes need bold gestures like a blockade just to garner a little media attention. Of course that attention can quickly become backlash if it's taken too far for too long. Again, if you step back and look at it, also unfortunate and unfair because nobody can play the waiting game like the government.

I think a hunger strike is a stupid tactic too, "I'll kill myself if you don't give me what I want." Well, what are you, 5 years old? If you die you won't get it anyway, maybe you should try something else.
That's a PR move, just more media attention grabbing. I think what makes it not sit so well with so many is that it's a dramatic tactic with built in self-righteousness (hunger strikes-if you can truly call this that-is about the ultimate self sacrifice), and self-righteousness is not something I personally think this woman can lay claim to. I think there are too many unanswered questions surrounding her leadership and/or her part in the leadership of Attawapiskat, she's tainted her brand so to speak.

Yep, any self-respecting chief who is intent about performing his/her duties needs regular nourishment to perform "up to snuff".-:)

Really Bremusa? This post about that other post that you gave me a thumbs down in was worthy of yet another thumbs down. ROFLMAO

Really Bremusa? You hit me with yet another thumbs down regarding the post I posted about the post you gave me a thumbs down in. I can do this all day long. ROFLMAO

I did not like the post, it was abrasive to the situation.

Hey, some Zig some Zag. I just found it funny.

Are you gonna whine every time I don't like one of your posts.

I think I understand. If you think I was whining then I would understand how you might have found that post abrasive.

Or is this some sort of let the world know agenda who gave you a thumbs down, heaven forbid.

Cry baby.

Would the above be considered abrasive. LOL

I don't often make claims as to my prescient abilities but.......I see another thumbs down coming.

If I'm right, I'll try to concentrate on the 6-49 numbers. Want to go halves with me? ;)

Like I've probably said a dozen times already a "thumbs down" often says more about the donor than the donee.

I find the whole thumbs down funny. I've handed a few out myself, but they're really just the lazy man/woman way of responding to a post they don't want or cant respond to.

Northern Ontario,
Her being there right now just puts the focus on the lack of transparency in her Reserve's management and detracts from the multiple problems across Canada with the way the Government is dealing with the Nations and passing off some of their responsibility on the provincial governments....just to name one problem with that omnibus bill.
