Come on Skook. The First Nations were mining stone and soft metals for centuries.

A people who had a complex system of government, oral treaties with other nations, productive agricultural processes, and so on.

Who did they pay?
http://publications.gc.ca/collections/Collection/RC31-15-2003E.pdf

We actually cleared the land, built the grist mills, and infrastructure, before the land was actually stolen from us.
LOL.

LOL.

Troll.

Geezus you need to go back to school.

Is that why the US based the Constitution on the Haudenosaunee Constitution and took many of the our systems of government and applied them to their own?

Is that why western exploration was only possible with the help of First Nation guides who had knowledge of the areas?

Yes resources.

That's funny seeing how the first nations from the arctic circle to the southern tip of south america were mining for centuries before European settlement.

We were wiped out?

Oh crap that's news to me, Ohkwai, of the Onondaga, Haudenosaunee (Read; "Iroquois" a derogatory French slang for "group of snakes")

Pleased to meet you.

As for our little knowledge of the resources at hand, we mined, harvested timber, utilized aquaculture/agriculture, changed our surroundings to meet our needs, and so on.

I'll answer that when you clear up the inconsistency.

If it no longer exists, how does it cause hardship?

I was raised by traditionals, we lived very much by the "old ways". Not only was it something I look back on with great fondness and wonderful memories, I long for those days terribly so.

You didn't have a contract, we did.

Wrap your head around that and get back to me.

LOL, racism.

No it isn't, but thanks for the laughs.

Land, resources, lives, culture, history, dignity.

Yes, your posts are.
Looks like a lot of people believe what they read in history books in school. Which isn't exactly their fault.

Would you limit yourself to just perogies and say you are on a hunger strike?

Geez, Walter, if you'd have just told us this earlier we'd have a better understanding of why you are like you are!-:)

The woman is a fraud, taking $ 167,000 tax free a year out of the band funds.
Actually it is $275,000

If I dropped an elk off at the Community Center would anyone know how to butcher it; skin it, flesh and tan the hide?
Good point. Funny that they want to keep their traditions, but you don't see them fishing in a birch bark canoe or a dugout. No, they have the best in bass boats... They don't get around in winter using snowshoes. No, they have the best snowmobiles. Do they travel on horseback? No they have the best of pickups.

This link specifies a salary of $250,000 tax free: Spence continues hunger strike despite Jan. 11 meeting | CTV News
It was reported on the CTV 11:00pm news as being over $270,000.
No bias or hate here, I have friends who are Natives. They actually work, and earn an honest living. Don't start getting into name calling, because you will lose.

May reports on what her salary is. So that rate is not proven yet. I note your comments on having Native friends who actually work and earn an honest living. Does that imply that many do not- that you only know natives that work.
Tell me how I should be interpreting that-

According to the article, it states that the most recent audited financials go back all the way to 2005. between when that article was written (2011) and 2005 is a very legnthy gap.

In the end, if Spence had nothing to conceal, those records would have been trotted-out in a nanosecond and used as a media tool to push the gvt. Instead, Spence has bent over backwards to keep those records from seeing any light and attempted a redirection of the real issue by this ridiculous stunt.

those records are on line for all to see, and have been from the beginning.

It's still 2005.

There are now 7 years of comparing the millions in funding against the expenditures.

Unlike the accounting records and financials held by Spence, the Omnibus Bill (made popular by the Liberals I might add), are - and always have been made available.

.. So, you're abandoning the allegation that Harper's Omnibus Bill was not ever made available to the public?

Just want to be clear an all
You? Clear? That'll be the day, Snapdragon.

As usual, you missed the point - being they on lofty perches care not where the poop falls - right, left, innie, outie, backward or forward.
