Obama is a Lawyer, that is his profession being a lair.. I think he has had more practice and is better at it..
Romney is a Corporate pyramid scheme. I suppose that makes him a cheat and liar too. Ask anyone who became redundant in one of his forced mergers for the greater glory of bigger profit

Obama Campaign to Supporters: Don’t Panic Over Early Exit Polls

In a conference call this afternoon, President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign had one central message for their supporters when Election Day arrives tomorrow: They should “keep calm,” even if they hear snippets of information favoring Republican Mitt Romney.

“My warning, we need to stay calm for much of the day,” Stephanie Cutter, Mr. Obama’s deputy campaign manager, said, touting thousands of early ballots already submitted by voters. “We’ve already banked a pretty big portion of our vote.”

The fear, she explained, was early numbers leaking before voters have finished going to the polls, creating unnecessary panic and pessimism among Democrats.

“Keep calm and tweet on,” Ms. Cutter said. “So, no matter what you hear tomorrow about turnout in Republican counties or exit polls, particularly early in the day, please remember and remind your readers that, because of early votes, we’re where we need to be to win….I don’t think there’s going to be official exits until the end of the day, but if things leak out that aren’t validated or weighted, please stay calm.”

For those that think this is a close election. In a tie - the House elects the President and the Senate elects the VP.
So it would be
Romney as the Repubs control the House
And Biden as VP as the Dems control the Senate.

They would make a wonderful couple.

The Electoral College is ridiculous. Faithless electors? Partisan selection of the POTUS and VPOTUS in ties? Candidates with the most votes losing the election?

It's ridiculous. I've heard before that the Electoral College forces candidates to focus on smaller states whereas they might tend to focus on the large cities instead...that's just BS reasoning. Obama and Romney have been largely campaigning in Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Nevada, and a handful of other swing states to the exclusion of the others. When was Obama last in California? Or Romney in Texas?

Ridiculous.

Why would they go to states (and big ones at that) that they know full well are "in the bag"?

If you say so.

West began his political career after resigning from the military following an investigation into his interrogation tactics. In 2003, West was interrogating an Iraqi policeman who was not being cooperative. According to his own testimony during a military hearing, West watched four of his men beat the suspect, and West said he personally threatened to kill the man. According to military prosecutors, West followed up on his threat by taking the man outside and firing a 9mm pistol near his head, in order to make the man believe he would be shot.

West was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. During a hearing held as part of an Article 32 investigation in November 2003, West stated, "I know the method I used was not right, but I wanted to take care of my soldiers."[12] The charges were ultimately referred to an Article 15 proceeding rather than court-martial, at which West was fined $5,000.[11] Lieutenant Colonel West accepted the judgment and retired with full benefits in the summer of 2004

really, last time I looked at my birth certificate it says I was born in Canada.. not sure how that applies to me as I'm Canadian moron. However, I have spent a majority of my life in the USA.

I was married to a US citizen, and was fortunate enough to get my papers and then citizenship in the USA.

Your point is mute. ;)
You'll have to clarify as I'm not sure if you're calling me a moron or if you're calling yourself a Canadian moron. Perhaps the use of PUNCTUATION and/or COMPLETE SENTENCES might be of assistance?

You missed the point. If there is no electoral college, the size of the state doesn't matter, and skipping out on safe states is a risky gamble when all that matters is the number of votes you get.

Edit: Whoops, I forgot to insert, from your link:

Asked if he would act differently under similar circumstances, West
testified, "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell
with a gasoline can."

The boys in Benghazi could have used a president like that.

Also, you forgot to insert, also from your link:

Soldiers testified that in the process of detaining Mr. Hamoodi, he appeared to
reach for his weapon and needed to be subdued.[

How about the whole paragraph and not just a cherry-picked sentence...
Soldiers testified that in the process of detaining Mr. Hamoodi, he appeared to reach for his weapon and needed to be subdued.[11] Hamoodi was beaten by four soldiers from the 2/20th Field Artillery Battalion on the head and body.[12] West then fired his pistol near Hamoodi's head,[11] after which Hamoodi provided West with names and information, which Hamoodi later described as "meaningless information induced by fear and pain."[11] At least one of these suspects was arrested as a result, but no plans for attacks or weapons were found.[11] West said "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."[11]

Yep, a great presidential candidate. Gets 4 guys to beat the man then blows off a 9mm by his ear all to get useless info of a non-existent attack. Sound the f*cking trumpets for this savior of humanity.

Oops...didn't mean to burst your bubble like that. :p

I never could understand the need for the electoral college. To me it would make more sense since everyone in the U.S. votes directly for the president, just to have the winner get the popular vote for the country and the individual states wouldn't enter into it. Maybe someone can fill me in on the rationale of the system.

Our Founding Fathers ostensibly believed in democracy - but their writings all point to a distrust of winning via popular vote. The Constitution does not specifically give anyone the right to vote - in those days this prerogative was given to the states to do as they defined what constitutes property and voting rights. These electors were appointed in those days by the states governors, people who were essentially elites and/or who owed favors to those governors. Thus, having these elites appointed as electors insured that elites would remain in power.

Why hasn't it been changed in all this time?

Not sure why, myself. But it is being considered by some.
