We are living in a society that is slowly rebelling about being over policed
It actually started in the eighties with helmets for motorcycles and the .08
rule, now its smoking and peddle bike helmet and helmets for kids skiing.
Then there is the car seats for kids by height and weight and all kinds of
rules.
the reason, the .08 rule was eventually accepted was because there was
a rational education program that came ahead of it. To some degree the
car seat rule is being accepted for the same reason and I agree with both.
I do not agree with the BC .05 suspension nonsense though.
Motorcycle helmets came in to clamp down on bikers and spilled over to
everyone else. Ski helmets and helmets for peddle bikes is a good idea
as well.
Then the law people start on everything from clotheslines to dogs and soon
there are just too many rules. The difference is young people today are not
going to comply just because some in uniform says so. Look around, you
see it everywhere.
I think the enforcement officers should be paid by the elective government
they serve and not from the fines they collect. That alone would create more
respect and people would understand they are not being singled out.
We are asking too much of most of them, we are also subject to idiots within the
service itself that create some of the problem.
If for example the weeds at the end of the orchard in the city ditch, if they force
me to clean them up I will. At night with roundup and a pre emergent. this city
has a cosmetic pesticide ban. If they come after me I will counter sue, for they
are creating a mouse, vole, and marmot habitat that damages my trees.
I have not heard from them since.
By and large they are people doing their job and I respect them there are many
people who don't give a damn about authority and the problem is growing.

WTF? This is a by-law enforcement officer not a f*cking commando. All he does is use a bunch of ludicrous and invasive rules to steal peoples money under the guise of "public Interest" and they make out he is some kind of heroic figure. I would sure like to know how giving me a $185 ticket for driving my rig 2 blocks off the truck route to my property is making things safer for the world.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anyone dead, but if you are going to poke a bear you might just get mauled.
Yeah they get all the shixty jobs like sorting out problems because neighbours cannot talk- or they deal with asholxs - As to your rig- Is parking limited in your area?
It is parked on my private property. I have to go about 2 1/2 blocks off the designated truck route to my driveway but I don't have the trailer on when I do. A few months ago I came out of the house to find a ticket taped to the door. If I catch the f*cker on my private property again he might just get a severe case of rock-salt poisoning.
I hope you're charged and convicted of aggravated assault, at the very least for your efforts.

There is a sign on my gate that is always closed and locked. It reads "Private Property, No trespassing, No entry without prior consent under any circumstance"
If you agree with him climbing the gate and going past the sign then please feel free to send me the $185. The guy is taking his chances in entering my private property when clearly warned not too. I still believe govt authority (except for the criminal code) ends at my property line.

Three years ago Renfrew County got a new one...He decided that at a festival which occurs on a Farm, that it was against the law for trailers to let their grey water out. That if he caught anyone doing it, he was gonna shut down the festival.
But having outhouses all over the area was no problem at all......:roll:
Well, for the last five years my parking spot was right over a gopher hole....hell that hole was deep enough I could have dumped my black water tank if I had wanted.
Hope that gopher knew how to swim every night at 11 O'clock:lol:

I am very responsible with my weapons. Mine are just for more than show and hunting, they are also for protecting my family and private property which is allowed in the constitution.
If you take a job that entails stealing people's money for no good reason by invading privacy and trespassing you take your chances.
Why? I didn't petition to have them written in the first place. The problem with by-laws is they are usually put in place by 5 or 6 people in response to 1 or 2 people complaining without any regard for the rest of the citizens or their wishes. Seriously do you let 5 of your neighbors tell you how to live and what you can/can't do on your property?
I don't really care. I know how to build a house. As long as they don't want to try and make me financially responsible for their f*ck-ups other people can build how they want. None of my business what they do on their private property.

It sickens me to hear people talk as if the govt controls us when in truth we control them. The bastards in Ottawa etc have spent generations trying to make it popular belief that we should never stand up to the government and that they are 'all powerful'. Really they are nothing unless we all consent, and I don't consent!

Nope. But you obviously need someone to remind you of the law.
There are valid reasons for that. Mostly budgetary but also staffing. When short handed as almost all volunteer and many career depts. are during the day taking the engine makes sense because if there is a fire or MVA that require the engine and no more staff the rescue truck would have to return to station and change vehicles, which eats up valuable minutes.
We are getting an infestation of cityots around here that want to have the "government" do their thinking for them which is causing problems with the locals that much prefer to live and let live. We even have some in a newish rather fancy subdivision near the local airport that complain about the plane noise. They also complain about the noise and smell from the farms they are turning into subdivisions intruding on their lifestyle.
When bylaw enforcement becomes a revenue stream for local governments there will be problems that are totally unnecessary. Less rules would be a good start at downsizing the bureaucracy.

I only get 660 cfr newsradio here and they said he was handcuffed and severely beaten,the guy they arrested took the officer into town and dropped him off and filed a complaint about him trying to steal his dogs.
