TORONTO - Could a pistol-packing 12-year-old at a Jane and Finch school be a harbinger of things to come?

Are we on the verge of another summer of the gun?

If you believe statistics, you might think so.

In fact in the year to date, shootings in Toronto are up 54.7% over the same period in 2011.
You read it right.

Toronto Police crime statistics so far reveal in 2012 there have been 82 shooting “occurrences.”

At this time in 2011 there were 53.

These are shocking increases. But it gets even more alarming when it comes to victims.

In 2011 at this point in the year there were 58 victims of shootings.

In 2012 there have been 104 shooting victims in Toronto.

That’s a 79.3% per cent increase.

Excellent opportunity for the sheeple to howl about firearms, aided and abetted by the MSM of course. Next thing to go will be finger slaps.
How many households would be safe with firearms leaning in the porch among citiots?
Dad was mostly in charge of that, say, where is dad anyway?

We were told for the last 40 odd years that we didn't know how to raise kids, how's that working for you.

I have a Level IIA for sale cheap.... :)

Oh....and don't worry, they will blame rising gun crime in TO on the loss of the long gun registry.......despite the fact that the weapons used (like the 2" Colt .38 found on the kid) are usually prohibited weapons......completely forbidden to Canadians.

Yeah I don't claim to know much about guns but I do know one thing. Guns aren't the problem. Criminals are the problem.

I think I'll wait for the 'actual' crime stats as apposed to the 'Sun' crime stats.

You may think I'm a 'liberal' because I don't lay on my back and let Faux and Sun pour **** down my throat but you're wrong. The long gun registry was a big waste of money and doesn't help anyone. Cops say it does but they should just go to that odd domestic call that may have a gun as if it did and they wouldn't need the billions spent.

Leave it to the media to blame crime on guns; I have yet to see a gun commit a crime, or a knife, axe, hammer, baseball bat, or car for that matter. I must be from some parallel universe where inanimate objects do not have this ability or some other telekinetic power that drives them to commit crimes unabashed. If guns can be blamed for crime then cakes can be blamed for making Rosie O'Donnell fat.

Body armor.

Oddly, the civilian, (I hate that term), ownership and use of body armour is prohibited in NS. This was the result of lobbying by the police and accepted by our NDP government because we, the civilians, must remain beholden to and protected by our nanny state. Heaven forbid we actually take precautions to protect or defend ourselves. They know best. Like Winston Smith, we love Big Brother.

Body armor.

Yep....rated to stop up to .357 Magnum.

I really don't know how they do that.

Armored car guards pay (partially) for their own armour, so it belongs to them. Which is how I happen to own some.

Damn, if it is going to be illegal, I'll just keep it.

I have kevlar armored motorcycle jeans. Are you saying I'm illegal? Holy Crap! If some peckerhead tries to knee cap me or pop a cap in my ass, will he be in for a surprise.
