Anyone who works or has worked in the energy industry knows how environmentally stringent all companies are now.I have at least 7 inspectors I deal with every day when just doing triple 6 inch flex pipe lines,3 of them are enviro inspectors who will send you home at the first sign of moisture in the field, the same one the farmer is chewing the hell out of with his tractor.

Oh, so in other words, there never are any issues or problems, and there are no pissed off landowners (or neighbors) in all of Alberta, and the problems are all an invention of the wackos.
That's good to know, Wiebo made everything up, and all oil companies are perfect.
Now you understand!

Aren't you Happy you had that lobotomy?

He got away with it. So in that sense I'd say yes, he got the last laugh. Wonder if his family will stay up there.

Wonder if the parents of the girl shot on his property doing kid **** like 4 wheeling feel any closure?
He had a pitifull life if he had to resort to trying to kill innocent people,I hope he had a slow long death in pallaitive care while he was choking for his last breath as his organs shut down.Thats what would have happened to a lot of innocent people if any of his attacks on wellheads worked out, thank god we have protection against these lunatics as most sat buildings and compressor stations shut down if an explosion causes gas to free flow.

Anyone who thinks the piece of crap is some kind of hero should read up on his history and his criminal record.

My point was, because of Wiebo, the oil companies have started to move....slowly, but they have started. Wiebo has had a positive impact. It certainly wasn't a sudden idea on the part of the oil companies.

Bull.... Weibo had zero impact. Their environmental policy changes come only from the cost of cleanups. Trust me, that matters to the investors way more than a terrorist nutbag.

Funny how threads on certain topics bring out the flaky loons like no other.
I have a problem with folks who hero worship someone who had no qualms about killing innocent people to push his agenda.
I work around sour gas all the time and it is very very deadly, you dont try and get this gas to release unless you want to kill someone because it will knock you down in a millisecond and death follows right away.

H2S is so poisonous that we are trained to leave a victim and do not attempt a rescue untill someone with an SCBA arrives,in other words,if you go down your probably going to die.

So H2S is deadly poison but Wiebo's claims that it was causing all sorts of health problems in his community were BS because he was a wacko.... OK..... I think I'm getting your point. It is on the top of your head.

All that sour gas floating around Alberia would account for 50 years of conservative governments then.

Cliffy...how do you feel about sour gas being used in power plants if the H2S and CO2 are captured and sequestered?

It was here long before humans were and I tried to point out I have never seen a leak, failure or release in 35 years so yes it is dangerous when someones putting explosives on gas risers.

Maybe to put some meat to your claim you can tell me how many civilians have died due to exposure to H2S?

Nice try but you'll have to start waking up a lot earlier in the AM to pin the craziness here on me.

No not really - yuor words define yourself. And it is not pretty.

Surprised one of the news junkies here hasn't posted about Wiebo Ludwig's passing.Certainly a controversial character and one who's life illustrated a lot of what is wrong in the Canadian energy production sector-not to mention corruption laziness and outright stupidity on the part of the RCMP.Certainly he had the guts to to take a stand-quite unlike the blowhards that pollute forums like this.
