Ah, you mean ignore the concept of facts, scientific laws, etc.? I can imagine that. But ditching facts, scientific laws, evidence, etc. not only allows for a belief in YHVH , it allows for belief in Santa Claus, trolls, goblins, leprechauns, faeries, Zeus, Isis, Bridget, Dhumavati, Spock the Vulcan, etc.I have no idea if you have a bible kicking around, but I challenge you to put aside your preconceived notions that the bible is written without divine inspiration, that it's corrupted from the original, that it's a concoction of pagan beliefs, and read it with the notion in your heart that "this could be true". It's called having an open mind. If you do read it with an open mind, you will find that God will "become alive" or in other words, reveal himself to you. That's what the bible is, it's God's personal message to Les.
lol WHy bother? I don't go past the second to last page. Before I re-entered this thread my last post was 3 or 4 pages back. It's history so I leave it there. If someone replied to my last post 3 or 4 pages back, they better repost or forget me giving them a reply. There's too much content to reply to! I'm still on page seven I think! Argh!
It is your interpretation that is false, misguided and a misrepresentation."It could be true" or "it might be false". There's no in between answer!
Yeah, I was told that too, many times over a period of about 15 years by many people, one of the later ones even told me, "The Holy Spirit will burn a hole through you." Great, just what I wanted. So I tried, from early adolescence to early manhood, to do that. Nothing happened, nothing was revealed to me except an increasing conviction that this crap can't possibly be true. And I even know the true believer's explanation of that: it's just to deny that I read it with an open mind, so it's my fault. Standard BS argument, if you pray and your prayers are answered, praise the lord, if you pray and your prayers aren't answered, well, the lord works in mysterious ways we're not given to understand, praise him anyway. I might start taking you people seriously when you can produce a single properly documented instance of a person regrowing an amputated limb in response to intercessory prayer. Nobody prays for that do they, because they know it doesn't happen, but they *will* pray for things with more ambiguous outcomes and credit the deity when they get what they asked for. Y'all need to learn how to think clearly.I If you do read it with an open mind, you will find that God will "become alive" or in other words, reveal himself to you.
If god can raise the dead, why can't he regrow a limb? Something smells fishy and it ain't my arm pits.Yeah, I was told that too, many times over a period of about 15 years by many people, one of the later ones even told me, "The Holy Spirit will burn a hole through you." Hi,
You are right that wanting to impress people isn't always wrong. But it isn't always right. I.E., it's not the foundation upon which Jesus based decisions on how to act.
For example, you are aware that many times He did not impress people at all. Sometimes the entire crowd left him, with only a few remaining, and to these He asked, "will you also leave?"
It certainly wasn't for popularity that the Jews clamored to have Him crucified.
Regards.
The pursuit of popularity is a sad and shallow definition of social interaction that is "well-adjusted." I suspect you don't actually mean that. You're saying that well-adjusted people don't have any foundation outside of whatever culture they happen to be a part of?

lol It's also hard to take anyone seriously if they say that Christianity is the only true religion and that their god is the only true god. Especially if you consider the source of this info.
I am the only REAL god around and I am that because I say so, sort of thing.
Baloney. Some people just like to gab, some just like to share info, etc.
I think some people choose accuracy in truth. I much prefer to be accurate than popular myself.
More EU ASSumption? tsk tsk You are welcome to it, but it's folly. You are easily more popular than accurate. Gabbing and sharing are reserved for people with the necessary popularity to attract a reciprocating audience, even if it's your dog.![]()

Sometimes they understand. So your dog dosn't understand you then?
Who said they don't?Why won't your dog listen to you?
Sometimes they understand. Who said they don't?
Nope. We're just friends. It's a symbiotic relationship.They own you don't they.
Nope. They do things like keep deer out of wifey's gardens, put on comedy shows, etc. in exchange for food and pets. Like I said, it's a symbiotic relationship.Always hypnotizing you to feed them aren't they.
I'm sure they tell you lots of stuff.Dogs can tell you know.
When did you meet my dog? They own you don't they. Always hypnotizing you to feed them aren't they. Dogs can tell you know.
I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Yes, IMO opinion there is only one God. People know h [sic] by different names all around the globe.
I can guarantee that MY "God" is not the same "God" you are talking about.
Still catching up? I just posted that to be annoying. lolJesus defined that ''sword'' as the Holy Spirit, not a weapon: See Ephesians 6:10-17

YOU HAVE MASSIVELY CONTRADICTED YOURSELF HERE. According to you, people who revere "Allah" or "Krishna" or Jesus Christ as God are "knowing" the one true God, creator of all. Yet, as soon as the conversation moves to God's judgment and wrath against sin, suddenly you and the other Christians aren't talking about the same God!
