I was listening to question period and Fantino comes off as a complete shill.

Where the hell is our transparency on these goddamn planes???

Fantino - Was a shill as a Police Officer and had a ffn mean streak down his back a mile wide. Not a man to cross as he ruined many a career. He is a piece of Crapola.

Norway is buying the planes with engines. Seriously though remember when
we got the good deal on those subs from Britain, they still don't work. The only
good sub we have is in the Edmonton Mall. Canada never gets a good deal we
get a cheap deal and our military pays the price. Norway buys what is needed
and it costs more to buy the right stuff in the first place.

Why is Norway Estimating $40 Billion for 52 F-35s While Canada Says 65 F-35s Cost Around $14 Billion?....

OK....Norway's extimating $40 Billion what? USD$? CDN$? Euro's? Their
own currency? Are we comparing apples to apples, or apples to banana's???

I'm not see'ing that answer in the LINK in the O.P.

Did anybody else notice the captioned story in the OP was cut off before this tid bit?

Part of the cost difference is on the operating and maintenance life-cycle cost. DND is estimating am operating and maintenance total cost of $7 billion over 20 years for its 65 F35s.

Norway’s Defense Minister Grete Faremo, however, stated in June that the operating and maintenance life-cycle cost, spanning 25 to 30 years of projected service for Norway’s 52 F-35s is estimated at $26.8 billion. The Norwegians believe it makes more sense to project the cost on the actual life of the aircraft – 25 to 30 years.

These are estimations, based on variables outside our purview.

So is what our government is telling us.

It would be nice to get some credible figures, but the Norway one is at least an estimate based on the entire project.

The author of the article also specializes in military procurement.

This project needs to die.
