In the opening scenes of that video, the dad orders a younger child out of the room. I somehow can't believe that
the younger child didn't hear everything that went on in that room. That is also a form of abuse. I wonder how he/she
is making out.

No significant conversation ended when someone brought stoning 9yr old rape victims in foreign nations into a thread about a YouTube video of an Arkansas Judge who whipped his then 16 yr old daughter with a belt..

I wanted to know if he still thought we where civilized, after watching that video. He answered yes.
My opinion is, instead of pointing fingers we should look at ourselves. Cause trying to change others is a waste of time.

Do you?..

Yes.

She downloaded content that was not paid for.
Being that the girl grew up in a different time then her father its perfectly acceptable to her
But not to her father.

This link explain that difference well.
Enjoy.

What some of the more challenged fail to realize, is that while such things do occur in civilized countries, they are treated as a crime.....while elsewhere the stoning of a rape victim is not.

Actually, it says that she downloaded content that was not legally available, if I recall correctly.

Yes, good point and I do recognize it.

I thought I herd her say something about paying....
I think that the Copyright laws are long due to be overhauled since our Internet evolution.

Hell hath no fury.. like a woman strapped. Judge Adams is likely to lose his seat on the bench, could face (doubtfully) criminal charges, and has had his reputation damaged permanently. His daughter waited 4 years, until she was 23, financially independent, through school.. and then pounced.. full claw and fury.

yep, abuse victims tend to wait until they are free from the control of the abuser to report it. It's too risky to report abuse when police have to try to get you out of the house. A man who comes undone like that over the computer would likely beat a child to death inside of 5 minutes once he found out she'd leveled charges against him.

Not to mention he was a judge!

She waited until she was away from him. A child that is beaten is afraid! And now grown up and pissed off!

That is the beauty of it. I loved how she waited so long then dropped the anvil on his head.

Certainly she waited until she was away from him but she would have been away from him at 18 or 19 but would have lost her paid education had she brought charges then. Charges after she has done lapping up the free money makes her seem a bit hypocritical.

I wasn't aware that it showed that her father paid for her education. Do you have a link to that?

Even so... let's say he did pay for her education, look at that whipping she took. I would have vengeance on my mind too and would want to get every red cent from him. That was not her first beating and she set up the camera to catch just that.

I simply have no sympathy for this man. I don't. He's an egotistical, abusive azzhole. I cannot even conceive of beating my kids like that. I cannot conceive of even swearing like that to them. Did you catch his comment near the end of the video?

"You don't deserve to be in this house."

Seriously?

I wasn't referring to just this thread in particular but a general statement about gang banging. Some people just go onto any thread posted by certain people and just harass them continually, calling them idiots and such and attacking every word. I believe that it is against forum rules but it happens every day so I'm wondering why the mods tolerate it.
Like you Cliff, I also wonder why so many people jump onto someone else's band stand against one poster (frequently me). I also wonder why people who are not happy with the band standing don't jump onto the other band stand and say it isn't right. Too often everyone leaves a person quite defenceless by simply moving on to another thread seemingly hoping the mini war will be over and a new thread will emerge. I also wonder why the mods tolerate this action and why they tolerate so much foul language on here. There is swearing and then there is foul language. The list goes on. I don't get how some people say they are anti violence yet take every opportunity to verbally abuse someone here. Sometimes, verbal abuse takes a bigger toll than physical abuse does. It not only happens lots, but those who like to dish it out seem to truly enjoy doing so. People who do that concern me. Birds of a feather!

With all due respect, and politeness, are you seriously suggesting that people who engage in verbal slagging and foul language are akin to people who beat their teenagers with a leather belt?

In a forum environment that people CHOOSE to be in no less.
