You are somewhat right. However, the onus is also on the reader to clarify what they read before beaking off. It's so very easy to type in a word that someone outright chooses to mean something different than the writer meant it to be. Then, when they have not asked for clarification, they accuse the writer of either being a liar or of being stupid. No one should ever accuse someone of stupidity or of lying unless they have asked for clarification before they ever respond to a post. If your post isn't showing a positive attitude, or if you don't expect it to be, read the post again to see if you should clarify. What does it hurt? It's just a "do you mean? or are you saying" and if the person says that is exactly what I am saying then - I guess they've opened the door. Nothing makes a person look more stupid than accusing someone of lying or of being stupid when they are not the guilty party and the accuser is. Clarification is everything.

I survived early childhood catholicism by freeing myself from it . at a relatively early age. In retrospect.....it is astonishing to realize how detrimental those fanatical beliefs are on a persons developing psyche.

But back to the Beater Judge....... one can only imagine the feelings of resentment , and inferiority that child is gaining from such violent "punishment".

Agreed, it absolutely does. It also puts onus on the writer to take ownership of one's own statements instead feigning innocence/ignorance at the havoc that they cause.

One could also easily say that it's about people actually coming together about something that was interpreted by many as being a slanderous insult. And frankly, it that's what someone is putting out there then they really can't complain about getting some of that back.

I would hope that it is. It's nice to think that I live in a place where, if someone had maligned my character, others would come to my defense as well.

I wasn't referring to just this thread in particular but a general statement about gang banging. Some people just go onto any thread posted by certain people and just harass them continually, calling them idiots and such and attacking every word. I believe that it is against forum rules but it happens every day so I'm wondering why the mods tolerate it.
