The experience here in AB seems to be about the same although I think that private schools may not get 100% per student funding. For some reason, I believe that I read that AB private schools receive around 80% of the per student allotment, the balance is (obviously) recaptured from tuition fees, etc.

The student is covered but building costs. admin and any textbook cost that are outside of the curriculum of the public and catholic school boards.

I'm not a fundamentalist. My political perspective is best defined as traditional Catholic, which is radically different in all but a superficial sense than the Evangelical, which is characterised by Libertarianism and Biblical literalism. So you should do some research before bandying labels around.

As to the speech, Baird specifically mentions homosexuality, presumably to differentiate between their 'real' human rights grievances, and those 'artificial' one's of the Palestinians, who have lived under occupation for generations, been denied statehood and international legitimacy and have had their land systematically stolen under the pretense of Israelis security.

The abortion issue surfaced recently when a Tory MP complained about the government decision to fund Planned Parenthood, the leading global provider and advocate of abortion. No human rights issue is more prevalent today than the holocaust of abortion which denies Life to the most vulnerable and voiceless in our society.. the unborn.

So my post in fact refers exactly the hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy of the Conservatives. It falls into a pattern of grovelling before the Jewish and Evangelical lobbies, which control American politics, both of whom support unfettered Israeli imperial aims for a 'greater' Israel and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from the West Bank.

It also fall into Globalist economic agenda, which places economic power into the hands of supranational agencies (WTO, IMF, World Bank, UN) at the expense of national prerogative and in support of an oligarchal trading organism. It all fits into a single grand scheme.

Regarding my re-discovered Jewishness, apparently my ancestors knew personally what it was like to be discriminated against and run out of countries. My uncle believes his mother, (my Grandmother on my mother`s side) was 100% Jewish. Everyone including her, thought she was Polish Catholic. When my uncle tried to locate our Polish relatives by our legal family name, he encountered a dead end. Finally he realized our legal family name was invented. Eventually he discovered our original family name was "Sklar" and he made contact with our relatives in Poland. They knew my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother by their invented Canadian legal name and their original family name. They had letters from them after came from Canada using the new Canadian name and pictures of my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother before he came to Canada. These letters and photos confirm confirm that Sklar is our original family name. They also knew much about why they came to Poland from Russia and why the family changed their name. According to them, the Sklar family originates from Russia. My Jewish ancestors fled to Poland and changed their name to escape the anti-Jewish pogroms which were common before/during the Russian revolution. When the Sklar's came to Poland, they changed their name to a non-Jewish Polish sounding name and pretended to Catholic, so they would not be harassed by anti-Semitic Poles. Some continued to practice Judaism covertly even during the time of the Nazi occupation. Some of my relatives who remained in Poland and continued to be Jewish now openly practice Judaism. Others are devout Catholics. Most of my Polish/Russian/Jewish relatives are secular/agnostic just like me. My uncle lives a far distance from me, so I have not seen his proof first hand. But the evidence sounds conclusive and my uncle genuinely believes that my Grandmother on my Mom's side comes from a Jewish family. If I tested my mitochondrial DNA, I would expect to confirm that I descended from Jews on my mother's side. I have a sister and a number of female cousins who also share the same mitochondrial DNA. Their children would also be genetically Jewish like me. I can appreciate the irony of being classified by you idiots as a Joo-hater, when it turns out, I am actually genetically Jewish.
