Jews are not the only people to suffer genocide and knowing human nature, I expect they won't be the last.
People who hid Jews in their homes and helped Jews escape had the ability to see right through lies told to them by the state controlled media. Jews have nothing to fear from people who believe in peace and tolerance that can see right through demonizing propaganda about them or anyone else. Any Jew who believes that people who currently irrationally fear and hate Muslims are their long term friends would be mistaken. The same demonizing propaganda techniques used against Muslims, can also be used against Jews. Their Islamaphobic "friends" would turn against them if their idiot box started demonizing Jews. The manipulated masses only needed about 2 days to go from ardent Saddam Hussein supporters willing to overlook his cruelty and war crimes, to calling for his head.
Regarding my re-discovered Jewishness, apparently my ancestors knew personally what it was like to be discriminated against and run out of countries. My uncle believes his mother, (my Grandmother on my mother`s side) was 100% Jewish. Everyone including her, thought she was Polish Catholic. When my uncle tried to locate our Polish relatives by our legal family name, he encountered a dead end. Finally he realized our legal family name was invented. Eventually he discovered our original family name was "Sklar" and he made contact with our relatives in Poland. They knew my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother by their invented Canadian legal name and their original family name. They had letters from them after came from Canada using the new Canadian name and pictures of my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother before he came to Canada. These letters and photos confirm confirm that Sklar is our original family name. They also knew much about why they came to Poland from Russia and why the family changed their name. According to them, the Sklar family originates from Russia. My Jewish ancestors fled to Poland and changed their name to escape the anti-Jewish pogroms which were common before/during the Russian revolution. When the Sklar's came to Poland, they changed their name to a non-Jewish Polish sounding name and pretended to Catholic, so they would not be harassed by anti-Semitic Poles. Some continued to practice Judaism covertly even during the time of the Nazi occupation. Some of my relatives who remained in Poland and continued to be Jewish now openly practice Judaism. Others are devout Catholics. Most of my Polish/Russian/Jewish relatives are secular/agnostic just like me.
My uncle lives a far distance from me, so I have not seen his proof first hand. But the evidence sounds conclusive and my uncle genuinely believes that my Grandmother on my Mom's side comes from a Jewish family. If I tested my mitochondrial DNA, I would expect to confirm that I descended from Jews on my mother's side. I have a sister and a number of female cousins who also share the same mitochondrial DNA. Their children would also be genetically Jewish like me.
I can appreciate the irony of being classified by you idiots as a Joo-hater, when it turns out, I am actually genetically Jewish. I guess according to your narrow warped perspective, you should now classify me as a self hating Jew. BTW, I am proud of my family heritage and being part Jewish.

What past acts constituted genocide is a very heated debate – Many like myself consider the Holocaust as it was performed on an industrial scale, never before seen by humanity. Massive diversions of soldiers and equipment by the Nazis for killing Jews when they were needed to fight battles proved that point early in the War.

First of all, the people willing to risk their lives for Jews were a TINY fraction of one percent....perhaps one in a thousand. The vast, vast majority of people are sheep, which means in a climate of Jew hatred, perhaps one in a thousand will actually risk their safety to help.
I read an article some time ago that studied the people that helped Jews. It put forth the thesis that the people that helped came from two very distinct societal types, and were almost evenly divided between the two:
First were real Christians, people steeped in the Christian religion that fully refused to go along with the Nazi evil, and that vetted their own Christianity by risking all to save individual Jews.
The second group were criminals.....quite literally people from the underbelly of society, people that habitually spat in the face of authority when the spirit seized them.........some of whom took up the Jewish cause with gusto, simply as an act of rebellion.......and compassion.

a people who have said no to multiple generous offers in the past, all because anything short of a "purely Palestinian" state is unacceptable to them

No doubt some people who helped Jews were Christian. But many weren't. In order to prove Christianity as the prime motivator for helping Jews, you'd have to show that Christians helped Jews at a greater rate than non-Christians. I see no indication that Christians helped Jews at a greater rate than people without any strong religious belief or people who belonged to other religions.
Since the biggest recipient of Jewish refugees was China and few Chinese are Christian, I'm willing to bet these people had other motivations besides Christianity. It would be more accurate to claim that helping Jews was a Chinese thing to do, more than a Christian thing to do.
The people who hid Anne Franks were Christians, but their stated motivation was friendship. I'll assume part of being someone's friend includes feeling empathy.
But if helping Jews was the "Christian" thing to do as you believe, then why did only 0.1% of Europe's Christians help Jews. That would make these few Christians exceptions. If you were to make a generalization about Christians and their behavior regarding Jews during this time, it would be more accurate to say the "Christian" thing that most Christians did, was nothing. In fact, far more Christians helped authorities round up and exterminate Jews, then helped Jews. Jews would have been better off if those Christians did nothing.
If our government went crazy and decided to round up and exterminate Muslims, I bet most Canadians would do nothing. More likely many Canadians including Christians would help authorities round up and exterminate Muslims. Very few Canadians would help Muslims and I doubt number of Christians willing to risk their lives and that of their families would be higher than the non-Christians. Given your irrational hate and fear of Muslims, I doubt you would risk your life and that of your family to help a Muslim family.
BTW, I'm not judging you. I'm uncertain that I would have to balls to risk the lives of people I loved to help strangers either. I'd like to think that I'd have the guts to do it, but no one can know how they will react in this situation until they are in that situation. But I think I have an idea of what people risked to help Jews. These people proved themselves moral when it counted and that includes Oscar Schindler who initially exploited the situation for personal gain, but ended up making real personal sacrifices and taking risks to help Jews.
