No major conflicts with an identifiable enemy maybe?
Iraq, and Afghanistan aren't major conflicts?

The 'insurgents' in Iraq, are Islamic fundamentalist warriors from across the middle east. Afghanistan's over thrown gov't was an Islamic fundamentalist gov't. The 'insurgents', again, are Islamic fundamentalist warriors, from across the middle east.

There is most definitely an identifiable target.

The Charter of rights and freedoms (Contemporary), and the US Constitution, dictate that what you think is a "probably", is a "no way".

The Years of Shame

Is it just me, or are the 9/11 commemorations oddly subdued?

Actually, I don’t think it’s me, and it’s not really that odd.

What happened after 9/11 — and I think even people on the right know this, whether they admit it or not — was deeply shameful. The atrocity should have been a unifying event, but instead it became a wedge issue. Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.

A lot of other people behaved badly. How many of our professional pundits — people who should have understood very well what was happening — took the easy way out, turning a blind eye to the corruption and lending their support to the hijacking of the atrocity?

The memory of 9/11 has been irrevocably poisoned; it has become an occasion for shame. And in its heart, the nation knows it.

I’m not going to allow comments on this post, for obvious reasons.

I'll bet:roll:
Breezy would love this....But she can't read it ...I'm on her ignore list:lol:

That Charter will become worthless the day some yahoo walks into the lobby, shouts something like "A-choo Eggbert" and the Peace Tower (f'rinstance) crumbles around him.

I would love to see EAO's Post and backtracking ettc.
...It was a Muslim...

But he had good reasons...

Reports are that someone dressed as a policeman is randomly shooting people just outside of Oslo right now.

Norway is taking action against a radical Islamic cleric and is involved in the Afghan war. They also reprinted the infamous Mohammed cartoons. So its not a stretch that a radical Muslim extremist is behind the attacks. BTW, I was in Oslo on business just 2 months ago. I was working in the suburbs, but I did stroll around downtown and I recognize the street from the photos.

To, my bad...

My bad, this is starting to look more like a Columbine type incident:

Suspect held over island shooting is Norwegian: Official - The Times of India

They captured the suspect in the shootings. The shootings appear related to the bombing.

Winepluis was said "groups" unidentified. EAO immediately blamed Muslims, then began making excuses.

Have you figured out some magic way of identifying them?
They're the ones that go to Mosques.

Kind of like how they could identify the Japanese at Shinto temples.

That Charter will become worthless the day some yahoo walks into the lobby, shouts something like "A-choo Eggbert" and the Peace Tower (f'rinstance)crumbles around him.
You have that little faith in your fellow Canadians?

So ... you're a kill 'em all sorta guy then? Some Christians go to Church. Does that make them all extremist soldiers in the Army of God?

Kind of like how that could identify the Japanese at Shinto temples.

All of them. You already said that.

You have that little faith in your fellow Canadians?

Faith? It's safe to say there would be more with similar viewpoint (as above)

And your posts look stupid, resembling petros'.

Shall I post a thread of mine, defending the burqa by way of the Charter.

I made it clear as to the methodology, and who it was originally used on.

And lets not forget the fact that I'm the one that stated the Charter would and should protect Muslims.

It was you that said it wouldn't.

Shall I pull up my posts and threads on the Charter?

I don't want to treat you like petros, but I have no problem doing it, when you try and erroneously apply such an ignorant attribute to me, by sniffing between the lines.

For what it's worth, to me the point of the article was that this is how this guy feels. Fair enough, he's entitled to his viewpoint as we all are. The way I look at it, it's worth more to me to try to understand why he feels the way he does than to justify why I do or do not exemplify what he's talking about.

The logic of not tarring all members within a group with the same brush holds up no matter what group it is. It has to, if it doesn't then the logic is flawed. But the logic isn't flawed, the logic is static; only the players change.

Well lets just start with this thread then...

Difference being these Japanese were Canadian citizens. Yet our government stole their property and sold it,and forced them to move away from their homes into what amounted to concentration camps in the interior.

Funny how facts like this get buried when a bigot hoe-down gets into swing mode....

The question to ask is would that happen today?

Probably....

And yet it hasn't. I wonder why.

No.

No.

Yes.

What view point?

...Maybe you could point it out clearly, without sniffing between the lines.

Maybe if you got off the pipe, you'd be able to comprehend what was said...

Thank you...

Terrifyingly illuminating.

FBI sees leap in anti-Muslim hate crimes / 9/11 attacks blamed for bias -- blacks still most frequent victims - SFGate

Read the link. I gave you all the information you could have wanted for a web search if you were suspicious.

Thank you for the link.

And as I thought, the statistic is completely silly.

The 1600 percent increase resulted in 481 "hate crimes" against Muslims......in which NOT ONE died, of which 32 percent were crimes against property..........

Okayyyyy.

In fact, the people most apt to be victims of hate crimes were blacks.........followed by Jews, gay men, and (WAIT FOR IT!) white guys. Yep. White guys. Muslims don't even make the top three. They don't even beat out WHITE guys!!

On THIS the population is accused of "Islamophobia"....yeah right.

Simply ridiculous.

Go back and listen to that arrogant silver spoon socialist arsehole talk to Ayaan Hirsi Ali.....even better, buy her books. For a REAL education.

Oh, BTW, on Sept 11, 2001............. 2,997 people died in a MASSIVE hate crime, a real one. The vast vast majority of them were.....white.

What part are you having a hard time following?
Your fuzzy logic.

Just scroll back. It's all in context that way....
It's all in context how I posted it.

ETA: Pipe? Screw that. It's either bagged or bonged....;-)
If you laid off it a little, you wouldn't be seeing things that aren't there...;-)

Dude, now you're using moral relativism like EAO!!!

It went up 1600%, that's bad, property or physical, full stop.

It doesn't matter where they are on the scale.
