Sadly there is not much left to sell-off after Campbell was through. Education and healthcare are suffering under this Liberal government, while they are intent on giving away the farm to their corporate owners while raising taxes on the working people and poor in this province. My girlfriend was scheduled for gallbladder surgery a few months ago, and so far it has been cancelled twice, the last time it was cancelled late afternoon, the day before she was supposed to report to have the surgery. The surgeon's office called the other day to say it is now tentatively scheduled for Sept. 29th, we aren't holding our breaths considering the receptionsit told her that one woman who was already cancelled 6 times, was actually on the table at Burnaby General and they came in and told her to go home the surgery had been cancelled once again. Apparently she went balistic and they had to call security. Who can blame patients for being upset, especially every time a surgery is cancelled many have to make prior arrangements to be off work or postpone other committments because some bureaucratic operating-room manager is more concerned about budget constraint than they are about patient safety.
Listen, all you anti-teacher, anti-union types, fisrt of all without unions you would all be working for starvation wages, in fact corporations and governments are presently kowtowing to corporate demands to lower the expectations of ALL workers across the world to the lowest common denominator, and if you can't see that, you're going to be very shocked when it happens. As for teacher, walk a few days in their shoes, where discipline is gone from the education system, teachers are being verbally and physically assaulted on a regular basis, by out-of-control students who have no respect for any authority figure. Today we have parent spoiling their kids rotten with every new gadget and trend that comes out and if they act out in school, they expect the teachers to just put up with it. In case you have never taught, all it takes is one, just one disruptive student to poison the learning environment for the whole class, and large class sizes also has the affect. You cite Chinese students being used to large class sized, and that may be in China, but at the same time Chinese and other Asian students are taught to respect teachers and other authority figures.
