The Oslo nutjob may have been ethnically Christian, but he wasn't observant. He seldom if ever went to church. He religious beliefs had nothing to do with his actions. In fact if he was an observant Christian, he might have observed the commandment regarding "Thou shalt not kill".
.

Exactly.

Thank you for that....this paragraph gets you a greenie. :)

Northern Ontario,
But if neoconservatives don't like the term neoconservative extremist, then we could call this nutjob a neoconservative fundamentalist, implying that all neoconservatives are fundamentally as crazy as this person. That's why neoconservatives call Muslim extremists "Muslim Fundamentalists", implying that all Muslims are fundamentally extremists, rather than extremists being the extreme exceptions.

Also anyone with a memory and common sense can see how this story is being buried by the neoconservative media. I guess the nutjob's neoconservative ideology hit a little to close to home for these people.

BTW, ignoring neoconservative extremism isn't making us safer. I predict that in time, we will see more acts of extreme neoconservative inspired violence. The odds are far more likely that neoconservative inspired violence will occur in Canada and the US, than Norway.

How about keeping score........
Neoconservative nutjobs: A big story about this one and a couple others in the last few years.......

Islamic Nutjobs: Do you realy want me to post a list??????????

Check the real bible for that. Killing is fine it's murder that's a no-no.

Yeah, I know that....I just wasn't splitting hairs, as blowing up and shooting seventy-some people is killing and murder.......

So you finally admit he's a christian.

Halleluiah.

You are losing it.....the point of the paragraph I gave a greenie was that what's-his-name was NOT a Christian......

You know, like the dozens of guys that go on full-blown murder sprees screaming "Allah Akbar" are NOT Christians......

But they ARE followers of Mohammed.

I've never heard the MSM refer to a Muslim who goes on a murder rampage as a "crazed gunman". The MSM assumes Muslims on a murder rampage are sane and driven by mainstream Muslim ideology, which is ridiculous. The average Muslim is about as dangerous as the average Christian.

Extremists are the problem, not religion or political ideology. Even an extreme environmentalist could go on a murder rampage to save trees and whales.

It's the murderers crying "Allah Akbar" that kills your argument.....it is the organizations behind them, the radical imams urging them on with promises of virgins in heaven................the very Koran itself urging the Muslims to jihad........indeed, it is the very regularity of Muslim mass murder.....Africa, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, New York, London, Spain, Bali...just off the top of my head.......plans thwarted in Toronto, in Great Britain, on aircraft repeatedly (shoe bomber, underwear bomber, as laughable as those are....)....all of which, every single one, the perpetrators that survived claim was done in the name of Allah........

Denial of that is denial of reality.

The average Muslim is much more dangerous than the average Christian.......that is the simple math.

And those instances are just the attacks aimed at westerners.......then there is Shia against Sunni, against other cults, mass murder of other Muslims by Muslims, for Allah is a weekly, if not daily occurence.

Are you saying that Muslims are simply more prone to homicidal insanity resulting in mass murder?????

Oh, and we haven't even touched on the individual state and religion-sanctioned killing of gays and women.....

Since the Oslo nutjob's primary motivation for killing innocent people was based on extreme neoconservative sources which promoted irrational fear and hatred of Muslims, he is correctly labeled a neoconservative extremist. I understand why neoconservatives would not want to be associated with this nutjob. But he is their creation. If any of his neoconservative sources/influences advocated violence, they may be criminally liable for the actions of people like the Oslo nutjob who heeded their call.

That's not math...the ones blowing themselves up aren't average.

Math fail.

Point taken....

If you are the victim of a murderous religious fanatic, that fanatic is many times more likely to be a practicing Muslim than any other religion.

Happy now??? :)

If religions were ranked according to the amount of attributed death and destruction, I'm pretty sure Christianity would rank #1. We can start with the crusades, work our way through the inquisitions, witch hunts, colonialism, imposed dictators, unprovoked wars...

I don't blame religion for all this death and destruction. Instead I blame the individuals who used religion to justify their atrocities.

At one time, most people in the west irrationally hated and feared Jews. Since then we moved on to commies and now terrorists. Its the same irrational blame game. The only difference is the undesirables are Muslims and Arabs, rather than Jews, Roma, Blacks and Slavs....

We must resist the impulse to blame an entire group for the actions of a few individuals within the group. Its a form of bigotry. You might not see it C, but anyone who doesn't irrationally fear and hate 1.4 billion Muslims can see how your mind has been poisoned by extreme neoconservative BS about Muslims. In the case of the Oslo killer, the same irrational neoconservative BS led to the deaths of about 70 innocent people. While the Oslo nutjob didn't say "Allah Akbar" as before his murderous rampage, he did release a manifesto which consisted of mostly the same Muslim hating neoconservative BS you also embrace.

If I embraced an ideology that led a crazy people to embark on a murderous rampage which resulted in the deaths of about 70 people, I'd re-evaluate my ideology.

Colpy, I suggest you make a Muslim friend so that you might see them as human beings rather than something inherently evil.

I work with a lady that was brought up in a Muslim family.........notice I do not say she is Muslim. She is married to a moderate Moroccan Muslim.

Her family fled Algeria when she was in her early teens.........they fled the civil war......in particular the lunatic gangs of Islamists that butchered without thought or hesitation. She still suffers the occassional nightmare.

She calls Muslim extremists "Those F$%&ing Barbarians"

She turned me on to Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

She is hardly the one to inspire tolerance of Islam..........

A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs. The predominant usage in modern English refers to persons hostile to those of differing race, ethnicity, religion or spirituality, nationality, inter-regional prejudice, gender and sexual orientation, homelessness, various medical disorders particularly behavioral disorders and addictive disorders.

I can tell a bigot, because they attribute a single set of negative characteristics to an entire group of people, without even knowing a single individual within that group. Hitler and the Nazis used bigotry to gain power and persecute millions of people. Neoconservative extremists are attempting to do the same thing, using bigotry against Muslims. Its the same game, just a different set of criminals and victims.
