Oh, yeah, that's right.... You're one of those fer-us-er-agin-us Bush types....Similarly, why would the Pakistani's rat on the good guys?

Point taken. CB is correct. My last comment was disrespectful and I'd erase that last comment but its locked in now. . I'm sorry daSleeper and Ironsides. Not mine...
It is when they want to avoid making more enemies.
Nope. If I were in Obama's shoes. No one would have ever known this happened, and Osama would be in some dark hole with his balls hooked up to a gen set 24/7. Just for sh!ts and giggles.
Do you really want to set that tone? You always end up crying to the Mods when I reciprocate.
Whoops:
The interior minister’s visit came at a time when fingers are increasingly being pointed in Washington towards Islamabad and its security apparatus over the presence of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad. Some press reports over the past few days have indicated that Saudi Arabia and Turkey had tried, albeit unsuccessfully, to persuade Pakistan to hand over Osama bin Laden to the United States.

So, if true, that would mean not only Pakistan knew Osama was there, so did SA and Turkey. Who else knew? And why would they protect this non-muslim religion hijacker?
No doubt! Nice kick-back but huge risk....All I would surmise from all this is that some Pakistani government/military leaders knew OBL was there, and for the past 8 or so months so did we.
You got that right. Apparently they had that option. Why is it that all the US's bad guys never get a fair trial.? I would have liked to hear his case in an international tribunal. I do know of one truth Osama made concerning US financial corruption. I've been waiting for two years now for the courts to force payment on stocks that came through. Looks like the US loves the interest it accumulates. They should have brought him in alive.

Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place.

They lynched Sadaam too quick also. The US didn't want the stories that Sadaam's friend Ronald Reagan kept mum on his knowing of the Kurd atrocities even decades before. The news made it look like the US just found out about it.
A sure sign of corruption is when the defendant is never allowed to go to trial.
What a farce.
If Osama was brought in alive:
He would be no more of an intelligence asset than are his computers.....which they did bring in alive.
Every idiot Islamist on the face of the earth would be looking for a group of hostages to murder while demanding his release.
Every idiot lefty, whiny, moronic twit in the west would be wringing their hands and crying abouthis "illegal" arrest.
The idiots would also be insisting he be taken to the ICC, which doesn't even have the death penalty.
IT IS WAR, NOT NIGHT COURT
So you believe they made no more enemies by this??It is when they want to avoid making more enemies.
As long as that same gen set is hooked to Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield & Wolfowitz as well I'm all for it.Nope. If I were in Obama's shoes. No one would have ever known this happened, and Osama would be in some dark hole with his balls hooked up to a gen set 24/7. Just for sh!ts and giggles.
Who are you guys kidding? Was it really your preferred option that OBL had a quick and merciful death, followed by a respectful burial at sea. That's not how the US usually treats their enemies.
Given a choice wouldn't you have preferred the commandos took OBL to Gitmo and tortured him for information, followed by a show trial, a parade down Broadway avenue topped off with a public execution at ground zero?
Your opinions tend match whatever crap your idiot box tells you. I doubt that's a coincidence.

Depends which part of WW2 you're talking about.So ... WW2 wasn't really a war?
Read the Geneva conventions.What rules?
That's why the US lost Vietnam, they played by the rules established in the GCs and the Vietnamese didn't. That's why the US will never honor those rules again. He who cheats best wins.

I agree the GCs need to be brought up to date. They are no longer relevant because nobody takes notice of them anymore, but they are to this day the only rules of war in existence so until there is something new that is all we have to go on.
I'm not trying to say that there aren't massive actions that are against the GCs on both sides. To me though it comes down to who holds honor and the moral high ground so sinking to your opponents level is unacceptable to me.
