Since Iraq did not possess WMD stockpiles in 2003, your assumption that Hussein had WMDs would be wrong.

Assuming that someone is innocent of accusations until proven guilty isn't stupid, but was the foundation of our criminal justice system. Now we just assume people are guilty and shoot them and anyone else who gets in the way.... or torture them for years without due process. Our criminal justice has reverted back to the middle ages when people were tortured until they confessed and then lynched by an angry mob.

It is not a court of law....it is war.

You hunt your enemies, and you kill them where you find them..........

Or they kill you.

I condemn people who commit war crimes and crimes against humanity, regardless of race, religion or nationality.

I expect that with a Harper majority, criticizing Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity will become illegal.

In case you didn't notice, free speech and tolerance of dissenting opinions isn't one of Harper's strong suits.

It's not a war, don't you pay attention. No declaration of war means not having to adhere to the Geneva Conventions which is why you will never see the US declare war on anyone again. They have realized that they can bypass all the rules of engagement and all the rules regarding POWs and any other rule they helped write or held up to show others as barbaric by simply not declaring a war and proceeding with illegal invasions and attacks hence becoming the barbarians they supposedly stood against.

Face it man, the radical Muslims have won!!! The patriot act destroyed the constitution, the bill of rights and all but 1 ammendment to the constitution and US citizens life in fear and in a psuedo-police state. The high moral standards of the american military have been washed away with torturous acts and civilian deaths aplenty and they are now nothing more than a mercenary group beholden to american oil companies. It bears no resemblance to the home of the free that the founding fathers envisioned and that was in existence right up to Sept 2001. The Muslim groups have won by turning the west away from everything it stood for and into something worse than the terrorists themselves.

So you condemn Hamas then?
I condemn those people who fire rockets and mortars at innocent civilians. Some of them are members of Hamas and other aren't. Not all members of Hamas fire rockets and mortars at innocent civilians.

But I also condemn the long list of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israeli soldiers and leaders. I don't condemn all Israeli soldiers or leaders, just the ones who slaughter innocent people in cold blood, use children as human shields and interfere with the delivery of humanitarian food and medical aid.

Are you also able to condemn all war criminals and people who commit crimes against humanity like me? Or do you give Israeli war criminals a free pass?

So what was Canada's specific mandate for going to look for OBL?
Was there a clause in there that we should be 'legally required' to chase down the last terrorist in the world, which is what the US mandate is?

Wouldn't do us any good (morally) as a Nation to be doing the same things terrorists do.

PhotoShop, if the government were to doctor up a picture it would not be with PhotoShop. you would not be able to tell the difference. PhotoShop hehehe .

It does not matter that he was killed the other day or years ago. He is dead now (officially). Maybe we were using his life to catch other members of al-Qaida who cares it worked also. No, Canada went into Afghanistan to destroy al-Qaida and the Taliban not just OBL. No one has to convince any individual that he is dead, his organization is still alive and somewhere down the road they will strike again. But with a bit less money and OBL's organizational skills. (if any)

The other thing that this whole episode emphasizes is that Pakistan is absolutely implicated in helping support and hide ObL. I would hope that the West thinks carefully about any dealings with Pakistan in the future.

Final message from Bin Laden coming soon...
US official: New tape may be last from bin Laden

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. intelligence officials believe Osama bin Laden made a propaganda recording shortly before his death and expect that tape to surface soon.

It is unclear whether the tape is audio or video, but a U.S. official says that intelligence indicates it is already working its way through al-Qaida's media pipeline. The official said the timing was coincidental and there is no indication he knew U.S. forces were bearing down on him.

A new recording from bin Laden would provide a final word from the beyond grave for a terrorist who taunted the U.S. with recorded propaganda for years. It could also provide fodder to those who insist he is still alive.

Just for sick giggles, someone should ran a photo shopped final pretend message from OBL, and/or fake tweets.
Sharing stuff like - 'How unseasonably hot it has suddenly become, or 'What is with that horrid sulfur smell, and/or, 'Hey, that guy looks just like Hitler.

Keeping the nightmare alive.

We know Pakistan has nuclear bombs, do we take them out now before they get a chance to disperse them to various terror groups that exist under their government protection?

President Barrack Obama didn't break the news that Osama bin Laden had been killed. He confirmed it.
Mainline and especially social media outlets were battling each other to be first on the story.
"So I'm told by a reputable person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn."

My apologies for the bleary-eyed post I made yesterday and your correction re the SEALS. My husband's ship was the Carl Vinson before he retired and his "cargo" of those parachutist tacticians always fascinated him - not that he would want to try it but felt he
was responsible to get them back on board safely. He would have been so proud the Vinson was part of the actual disposal of binLaden in Islamic tradition..

There is a general caution about writing on any Commissioned U.S.N. Ship - I thought I better wait until
the actual name was printed in a newspaper.

I also read with interest the current cost of maintaining a presence in Afghanistan which is yielding slow progress at a cost of $2 billion a week and the U.S. public has wearied of the huge expense when the
economy is in decline.

Armed confrontation with Pakistan is the last thing the US wants, I imagine. They're nuclear armed, neighbours to Afghanistan and friends with China, it would be a colossal mess.

Armed confrontation is the only thing the bosses want right now. And it will take the biggest widest war imaginable to cover the criminal stench of a fully corrupted global economy and a totally infiltrated western establishment. The bodies of the little people will once again be used to obscure or obliterate the evidence against the ruling clique.
