I personally believe these books and
belief systems were instituted by the masters of the society at the time to control the
people and didn't realize that some day we would all be educated and learn to read and
right, and make decisions for ourselves.
Still somewhat short of being a fact though isn't it?

The FACT is there are several versions of the Bible (a collection of hand-me-down tales finally composed in one language then translated and added on many times since) in print - all with many conflicts and much obscurity within. That would make the FACTS seem somewhat doubtful. Which version do you spout?

Goober, you didn't actually think the atheists could stay out just because you asked nicely, did you? lol

Without conscience.

I think you and I are going to have to agree to disagree- I question the conscience of these Bible thumpers that keep coming to our door and bothering us and also because they stick their nose in other people's business. (I guess they really have our well being at heart, just trying to make us as good as they think they are)

There's only two religious types on this forum, that have "virtually" told me how I should live and about how I'm going to hell. Mhz, and ean.

Gh and the other good Christians here, are nothing like what you have just described. Even to me, a member that once went out of his way to be as cruel and mean to Christians as inhumanly possible.

So I say again.

Without conscience.

OK Bear, I'll take a run at it from another angle. Let's just say for sake of argument that all Christians are good. Does that mean that ALL atheists are necessarily without conscience. I think people who don't believe in a supreme power can still be kind, generous and thoughtful toward their fellow man and perhaps even a little less judgmental.

Now for those of you that are Atheists, what you believe is your own business. OK - This is not a Thread for bashing Religion.
It asks in my opinion reasonable questions.

I don't know, maybe I'm just a tad more intelligent than the average user of this forum, but I think Goobers request was pretty clear.

Why would we say that? I certainly didn't say that in my post.

Nope, just the ones that like to litter every discussion with a Christian slant, with their brand of "Faith".

You can think the Easter bunny is coming too. But as we can see in this thread, as well as a litany of others. Any time someone asks a semi intelligent, relevant, interesting question about Christianity, it turns into the Atheist faith v Christians.

I'm sure there are generous, thoughtful, less judgmental atheists on this board, they would be the ones not using Christian threads like a little box.

I thought so to.

Hopefully the same one the Apostles were passing around. If you are going to take arguments about the path books went through the NT has way less opportunity to become corrupted compared to the OT which was an strictly oral book for 2,000 years. If they can keep it togethet I'm sure one translation from Greek to English by some very skilled people. Your argument could use some further clarification in the above issue.

Hopefully? You mean you're not absolutely sure it's the same one with the actual deeds and words of Christ?

Lets see, were not the first followers of Jesus Jewish or Arabs. Why would they write the original texts in Greek? Because they didn't. And just like the Quran loses in the translation to any other language, the Bible has bee translated into English after having gone through translation from at least two other language translations. Can you see that failure of your logic?

The other significant flaw is that the Bible supposedly is a chronicle of life on Earth from the beginning and then for some strange reason suddenly stopped chronicling life two thousand years ago. Where has Jesus and his daddy been since then?

I'm not sure if I have the who's who for the end-time players in Da.11. I have no doubts of the accuracy of the prophecies.

Lets see, were not the first followers of Jesus Jewish or Arabs.
First the Jew then the Gentile. Are you saying the Roman in Acts 10 had Arab friends or servants. No doubt that first evening the servants were with Peter they heard something about Jesus and unless they were Jews that would make them the very first Gentile. I hope we agree that the Centurion was fully Roman.

Why would they write the original texts in Greek?
Greek was already the established 'international language', Rome became larger in size but the use of the Greek language made Ales stronger in overall power (Da.8) Jesus had spent time before the cross preaching directly to the Jews, for 3 1/2 after the cross His servants preached exclusively to the Jews. The vision Peter had was to start preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles, in their own language rather than Gentiles having to learn Hebrew. Even before that vision Christians were leaving Judea because of persecution from Saul and his friends. Saul was converted, his friends were not, they are the ones offering the woes associated with the verses around the events associated with Luke.21:20. None of the Gospels cover events that are later that the ascension 40 days after His resurrection. A prophecy was fulfilled the night of the arrest, a group was created that is called the 'little ones' they are all Gentiles that will face judgment at the sound of the 7th trump. The 12 Tribes were absolutely essential in the OT and the Temple was needed to fulfill the prophecy associated with bruise to the heel. After that they were taken off the front lines and made less important compared to the Gentile Nations that play the major role in the bruise to Satan's heel' To believe that you would have to agree that one of the two cases below is worse than the other one. Say it happened with today's population split of Jews/Gentiles, Jews would go from a population of 20M down to just 144,000. Gentiles lose 1/3 of everybody (9B) =3B in a few years previous to Jesus's return and at that time He kills 2/3 of the remaining 6B. Once that 4B is dead there is 2,000,000,000 left out of 9,000,000,0000, who is going through more 'stress', God has a perfect track record of helping those affected by His actions get through those same actions, even if it is by the skin of their teeth. In our case we have a book that originally arrived with the prophecies already chopped up and scattered around in all 66 books that explains how we will bet from point "A" to point "B" as given in the one verse that gives the 'big plan'. If you don't believe that part then you won't get any of the finer details right.
Why in Greek, that is who it was meant for, it was 'part of the plan' given in Daniel that knowledge would be increased 'later'. The NT was written 'later'. Acts also shows that language was no barrier once the Holy Spirit was involved. Jews interested in killing all things associated with Jesus would have found the 4 Gospels if written in their tongue. Putting them into Greek would have made them appear 'to be worthless'. The Apostles traveled into the Nations to teach the 'Greek speaking and writing people', certainly his letters would have been in a language the reviewers could understand. Revelation was written to people in a Gentile Nation that would have spoken Greek, why on earth would they have all the books from Acts on given in Greek and original writing and have the 4 most important books given in some strange tongue that they could not understand with perfect clarity, compared to their own when speaking with those who are not yet baptized with the Holy Spirit?

Because they didn't.
God was finished preaching to the Jews and they were about to be taken captive into the Nations where they will be until brought back by God. He already lightened their burden by making a lot more food clean.

And just like the Quran loses in the translation to any other language, the Bible has bee translated into English after having gone through translation from at least two other language translations.
If that's what it takes to comfort yourself go with it.

Can you see that failure of your logic?
Why do you think 'they' call it the 'original Greek'? Think hard, ... times up

The other significant flaw is that the Bible supposedly is a chronicle of life on Earth from the beginning and then for some strange reason suddenly stopped chronicling life two thousand years ago.
The prophecies go much further than that. Once Revelation was complete everything that needed to be said had been said. Execution of the prophecies doesn't require anymore.

Where has Jesus and his daddy been since then?
Watching and listening. To what probably doesn't interest you at the moment.

Revelations is some poor schmuck having a bad trip on ergot. But if it gets your rocks off, go with it. To most people here it is just so much BS. And you are right, imaginary sky beings don't interest me.

Not only can Jesus walk on water but I once saw him swim on land!

Too bad nobody ever listens to what is being said or asks "what does that mean?" when reading his script.

Is there any religious thread you haven't visited?

A day at the beach for the little child Christ.
Proverb.8:30
Then I was by him,
as one brought up with him:
and I was daily his delight,
rejoicing always before him;
Proverb.8:31
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth;
and my delights were with the sons of men.

Anything built from 4000 - 2500 BC was a fallen angel, prior to that 40,000 to no later than 400,000BC would be the Christ child while God was directing the earth to build that various pastures that the beasts of the field were to inhabit. A great deal of that area would have been lost to the last ice-age so the area that was 'available' should have been in a fairly narrow band with the equator as the hot spot. If the UK was inhabitable that far back the Gulf Stream was still bringing warm water to their shores (400 ft lower than it is today).

Only the Bible is promoting 'aliens' as being different enough to have 24 fingers and toes as a regular physical trait when appearing as men. Christ is the one exception same appearance as we have, 20 fingers and toes. Should they ever appear before 'us' try not to buy the promotion until they have been around for 4 full years. We do that with strangers as it is. (trust any earlier than that leaves the door open for it to be misplaced trust)

If you have a different view of the same vids that fine, the structures still need a better explanation that they have had in the past if this is considered to be 'ground-breaking'.
