Contempt of Parliament had to be answered by an election if it was just the budget we would not be talking election because one of the opposition parties would get a deal

The power of government went to the heads of the Conservatives and they actually thought they were untouchable.

That's looks great on paper, but it won't hold up with the people. This was nothing short of Liberal opportunism to force an election on the budget. This was in the works well before the charge of contempt, but nice attempt to spin it that way. The Liberals have twice now tried to spin this unecessary election and turn the tide of public voter anger. First with the attempt to switch the channel on the budget. And now Ignatieff waiting until 3 minutes before the Prime Minister went to see the GG to announce he isn't courting a coalition. Well sorta? Huh?

I hope NDP kicks the Liberals ass into third place. They still have learned nothing from their time in opposition. They need to stop treating Canadians like they're stupid and get over this whole "We are the natural Governing Party." arrogance.

I can't wait til election day.

The Contempt of Government will be a very hard sell for the other parties .....Because it will mean very little to the average voters. This will go over thier heads as a minor ethical detail .....

And you saw no political stratigic move behind the Conservative intent? Conservatives pulled the strings towards an election it was obvious..... hell they started bashing the liberals in comercials since i forget how many months now....
This campaing has already started months ago.

Long live the political games that were not so obvious to the public eye .....

They saw the writing was on the wall a while ago. No doubt about it. The budget contained things in it that were recommended by all parties, just not everything. I suppose they could have pulled a desperate move like Paul Martin and succumb to all the opposition demands, but that's not really compromise its surrender.

Damn the torpedoes.

At worst the Conservatives will get another minority.

At best they will get a majority and the Liberals will get a new leader.

Win win IMO.

I'm voting Kneedipper!!!

Hell good ole Taliban Jack can make sure the pot heads get there pot, the lazy will get paid by me and those like me, big business will be made to pay, which of course will make China and other cheap labour markets our best friends. And of course, he'll give the Americans their comeupin's, so we'll all need passports at the border. So all the jobless can get a job with the burgeoning CBSA and Immigration Canada.

I'd be voting Conservative if Harper was stepping down.
Not liking my current choices as it is

The memory is vague..... I think they toned it down when they saw it was getting serious....used to love thier campaign minute on tv :D

What do you think Harper has in the way of power EB?

Do you think it's been all his way?

Or coul dit be the party had a plan to be as closed mouth and door as they have been?

Not liking my current choices as it is
The way I see it, we don't have any real choice left.

So how about you get that party started so I can throw my support behind you?

I just heard Iggy boy yapping off. The thugs and gangsters are getting the clear message they have nothing to fear from him. He doesn't seem to have the brains to realize if you can get most of these bastards off the streets, there would be all kinds of money for the things he thinks we should have- police costs would plummet, insurance costs would plummet and health care costs would even be reduced a bit.

I love the fact that 7 Years after he's been elected that there is still an aura of fear left by the liberals. \Last I looked, abortion is still legal, gays can marry, babies still get to keep all of their blood and we have not annexed the United States.

Now get out of the way, here come a bunch of retards with torches and more accusations.

I beleive it will be a very hard sell. I teste the waters here while you were gone ice fishing or something with a couple of threads .... All I saw was two staight answers and a huge arguement about how representaiton will be distributed. Too many arm chair politician that are more intent on complaining than wanting to do something..... I get tired of complaining ....worst I get tiered of others complaining.

I seriously need to do a draft for a presentation..... Those that I have had the time to explain it to some got it some barely did.
Realistically I wouldn't see this getting any credibilty with constant publication before a couple of majority government terms.

It's going to be a tough sell as members that join such a party are obliged to get informed and not sit on thier hands.....Like animals in a circus , we have been trained to behave .... oh yeah roar now and then .....but in the end are there for the show.
