He has it easier than the native women in Canada. (Not one white woman has been put in the same circumstances)

Furthermore he is not even in Solitary. He is in the Marine Max Custody Unit. Basically it is regular jail with limited movement and not the squad bay style brigs they have on Marine Bases.

Information's gonna leak.

Haters gonna hate.

You're partially right Floss. At times secrets will be leaked and if found the leaker will be punished.

I don't hate the guy... but he has to face the music. Crime and Punishment my friend.

Admire the information you shared here from personal knowledge and experience.

Some people seem to think belonging to the military is like a club learning how to obey orders, march in formation, keep one's uniform in top shape, and how to load a weapon.

It primarily as I see is a mind set which has to tear down all the public personae new members bring to the Corps and replace it with what is expected of a Marine as a member of an unusual military force.

Over their history whether agreeable to the public perception or not - many lives have been saved and rescued by the methods taught - cruel and demanding as they may appear to the untrained.

There is a difference between solitary and '"seg". In solitary you can talk and interact with other people in "seg" you don't get any interaction with other humans. None. Nada. Zip.

It should be pointed out that Solitary Confinement and Segregation have been interchanged over the years to the point of confusion. Now add to that the term Isolated Confinement to make things even more confusing. For the sake of argument, maybe we should make the definition of Solitary Confinement to mean total isolation. Segregated Confinement to mean in a separate wing of the prison with other inmates that can not be held in general population. How about that?

I agree with what he did and i don't in other aspects. Handing over mass raw info was wrong and it goes against his position as a an intelligence soldier but at the same time I'm glad he did release the information on some of the crimes and miscarriages of humanity that happen within the theater of war.

War or not there are rules to it and standing up for humanity is the right thing to do as a human but it was also the wrong thing to do as a soldier.

To sum it up the drilling wore off and he forgot who he was, where he was and why he signed up. It's hard to blame a human for being human but when that human is a soldier he should have spoke up and asked for another position that didn't jive with his training and beliefs.

It's a tough nut to crack.

Exactly right. And different nations train their separate branches of services in different ways. Army and Marine training are different. What a sailor goes through at Navy Recruit Training Great Lakes, IL is different from what an Airman Recruit goes through at Lackland AFB, TX.

British Royal Marine Training is insane! I would imagine Canada's CSOR training is just as insane.

Now to some who have no use for any military or its discipline nor care to understand.... they're (meaning members of the military) brutes, animals, ignorant, brainwashed, etc.

I agree and thats why I said Manning should have asked for a different posting if it was going against his training. He was the wrong person for that job if the information he was handling started to impeded his abilities as a soldier to deal with what happens in warfare.

In war nasty things happen. It is inevitable that things like the mistakes the military made and tried to cover will surface. He wouldn't be in the **** he is in had he gone to a real media outlet with a handful of things the people really should know about like how the Reuters reporters were improperly identified.

Dumping raw mass data to a megalomaniac who released it raw was the wrong thing to do.

At best he would have gotten a dishonourable discharge for releasing cover ups like the journalists.

Sooner or later something that big would have gotten out anyway.

Funny, this guy has not even been charged, let alone convicted and you clowns are wanting him shot. He didn't even have enough clearance to leak all that he is being accused of leaking according to some reports, so he obviously was not the only one, if he had anything to do with it at all. Sounds like he is nothing more than a scape goat for the real perps, but he is already dead to you guys. Sounds like the country deserves to be FUBARed.

Don't worry. Private Manning will get his day in military court. He will have a team of lawyers. His trial will allow a full defense.

America is now past the point of deserving. Morality now is irrelevant. The laws of physics are at work. They are inescapable.

I agree with you Goober everyone knows the IDF are almost identical with the SS and the USMC is only a distant contender.
And Hamas are Boy Scouts and Hezbollah are Girl Guides. Guess the missed the classes as the only thing the do is promote hatred and killings.

Just another one of those military things Petros. You can ask for a different posting but the odds are very slim on getting it approved.

Hey Beav... you found an opening to zing the Jooooos after all! I'm proud of you kiddo. :)

It is a well known fact that military intelligence is an oxymoron. Since this poor bugger has not been charged or convicted, it is more probable that he had nothing to do with the leak than he did. That is just simple logic. So to all you bozos who have condemned him, perhaps you should wait until some proof of guilt is established. Otherwise you just sound like a bunch of sadistic meatheads.

Speaking on behalf of sadistic meatheads, I would like to assure you that this kid is going to get justice. Have no doubt about it. If he is pure of heart the fire will not burn him. If he is evil he will be consumed by the flames. I love justice administered literally. Trial by combat. I'm sure a team of firebrand attorneys is even now coming together centripetally like a force of nature. :)

...bugger...

Strange you should use that word.;)

Hey Cliff... you do realize that he has actually been charged don't you?

Once again... check your facts before you call others bozos or you end up looking like one... like now.

PS. You may want to look into this case before you call him a scapegoat.

Ooops! Hit a raw nerve did I? Being charged does not make him guilty, none the less. My assessment stands.
