Most of us want to retire someplace where there is no word for snow in their vocabulary. Even the wet coast has far too much snow. As in it is happening today when we should be digging in the garden.

I know a lot of people who use lower case "i" because they feel the capital version is egotistical.

The fact of the matter is very few Canadians actually hate the US. It's like everything. Those few tend to ruffle feathers - especially on folk whose feathers are easily ruffled.

I don't hate Americans, well not all Americans I have some relatives I could do without but
that is personal not one nation to another. As for America being the greatest on earth that
is in the mind of someone who does not no much about the world. There are many things
about Asia that is out front of America, in fact America has mortgaged itself to the point
where if it is not careful, it will become a third world nation.
America is becoming a shadow of its former self. It was once a great country but it has turned
its back on common sense. it has abandoned any reasoned financial policy preferring to live
off credit cards with a moral policy measured in its stockpile of greed.
America is still harping on social and political issues, that everyone else moved on from a long
time ago. They waste time fighting over Medicare and universal medicine when almost everyone
else has embraced some version of it. They are fighting over abortion and other issues while the
rest of the world snickers in amusement.
The American Dream was built on youthful enthusiasm that never quite grew up and that is both
a good and bad thing.
America has always taken pride in its human rights record and its commitment to democracy.
The problem is, it abandoned its principles long ago and substituted hope and ambition with
the concept of fear. They are afraid of anything beyond their boarders, and they fail to recognize
that in their quest for world influence, not military domination, they have made enemies of much of
the world. Asia, the Middle East, South and Central America. One of the main reasons for this
animosity is that while professing human rights and freedom, they supported an endless list of
dictators throughout the world. This list includes people like Saddam in Iraq originally.
Yes America has done some good things as well, unfortunately all too often it came with strings
attached or with the support of the World Monetary Fund, an organization dedicated to the financial
enslavement of mankind especially for the poor countries of the world. Some ask why America has so much
foreign trouble now, well when you are the light of the world and at times an international bully, to
support their own self interest it happens to come back on you.
Now if you were to say, America was once a great country, you would be right, the trouble for the
world is America is sliding past its best before date and that is not good for the security of the world.
If people like you, in the United States demanded that America return to the ideals that made it great,
it could avoid ending up on the scrap heap of history as far as nations go. Do I want America to fail,
hell no, there are lots of worse places than America in the world.
The problem is however, that many Americans, and not all Americans are so self absorbed they
don't even understand, their dream is slipping away, and they hold in their hands the direction and
destiny for their future. In other words America used to be a great nation because it believed in the
future, it believed the world had endless possibilities and could lift the human ideal to new heights.
Now however, they are consumed by greed and afraid of their own shadow and everyone Else's.
Instead of complaining about what other people think, why not make sure your voice is heard at home
and work to make a better country, for you and your fellow citizens.
Oh and as far as History is concerned George Washington was a great man he was not an idiot.
He actually believed in his ideals and he believed in the concept he was fighting for, the problem is
he didn't believe that all should be free just the white ones.
