See, I told you.

Won't see that on the CBC or any other mainstream liberal media outlet.

You're a good Canadian Kreskin for posting what is going on in Calgary.
Hard-nosed journalism, Avro.

I wish the guy good luck, seems like a good chap.
Yes he does at that - I am quite proud of Calgary for setting religion to the sidelines, exactly where it should be as we believe in a separation of Church & State.
Way to go Calgary,

Very clever, Avro. By posting a thread in a manner that is contrary to all common senses and evidence you have managed to get everyone to accept the election of Mr. Nenshias a positive event, which it most certainly is. Perhaps this will help to clear up a few of the misconceptions involving most Canadians of Muslim heritage.

I do disagree with the over-enthusiastic supporter in your reference article who claimed “This sends a very strong message to our country. Calgary is the first major city in North America who has a visible minority mayor, an immigrant son,” he said. Apparently he does not understand that Mexico and Central America are part of North America or that numerous US cities larger than Calgary have elected visible minorities to the position of mayor.

For sure Marion Barry comes to mind.

Wherever Muslims go they cause trouble.

This is just the beginning bub.

Get ready for daily prayers and beheadings.

Hang on, let me go get a cross for you to burn...... I'm sure I can scrounge up some rope and find a tree for you too if you like.

I can even make you a hooded cloak with some of my sheets at home.... I'll make sure the hood has the most love stains for ya right around the mouth area. ;-)

Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that Central America is not part of North nor South America. Rather it is it's own region. :canada:

What is interesting about the religion of Calgary's new mayor?

Do people want to know the religion because they're going to join up, or what?

Indeed Central America is predominantly Roman Catholic.

No, but now everyone knows that someone rallying up people in their community beliefs, or choosing a colour for their political cause, is probably supporting a puppet.

There was a pretty girl from the news that tried to be mayour, but her motives were equally puppet like.

My point was that Calgary went with a progressive, multicultural candidate while in Toronto it looks like Rob Ford will be elected who is fairly conservative and not your typical Toronto politician.

I think the population went with a guy that yelled purple a week before the election, and recruited heavy on campuses.

If Toronto was able to see through the flash and splash purple, good on

There was not one good candidate.

McIvor was a puppet for Bronconier, and indeed that guy Bronconier was telling people to vote for McIvor. Nenshi and Higgines are puppets ... but only Higgins was asked what she did in the kitchen. I wonder what Nenshi does in the kitchen.

excuse me? Do you actually live in Calgary? Have you actually paid attention to City Hall? because with the comment I highlighted, it's pretty obvious to me that if you do live here, you haven't been paying attention.
