the Southpark clip speaks volumes.
Yes it does, after it prompted me to read the article on the actual homicide.

So I take it, they're looking for an educated, unemployed white redneck racist. Is what you're implying?

Good thing I didn't make that mistake.

uneducated... Definitely racially driven hence why so quiet on details so they don't freak anybody out. Not a good image when you have labour shortages and high immigration/migration to the city.

Anyway....How many folks here would fill this out without first contacting Legal Council?[/SIZE]
I know I wouldn't.

If I received a "document" like that in the mail I would take it as someone playing a practical joke and recycle it.:lol::lol::lol:

So, Ron, what exactly WERE you doing between August 1 and 6? We'd like for you to account for your every movement, er... moment. :pottytrain3:
:evil2:

I hope they catch the buggers, of course, but yikes. Is it like the census where if you don't answer you could go to jail? What a crazy country this is becoming.

I'm pretty sure that "form" got out without anyone in an official capacity with the R.C.M.P. ever seeing it.

More likely uneducated, probably right on the rest, and somebody who lives in the neighbourhood, and they're looking for a handwriting sample to match something found at the scene. Or maybe more; can you get fingerprints off paper, or DNA samples? Pretty bizarre though, and heavy handed, that questionnaire is an invitation to incriminate yourself which, as Colpy pointed out, you can refuse to do. I'd have refused to answer it.

(Editor's note: Page five)
E. Please write in detail everything you did from Sunday, August 1st until Friday August 6th?

Luckily I'm not in that housing complex, as I might have been able to fairly
honestly answer that questionnaire about my actions from the 1st-6th on
the 8th or so....but not so much accuracy on the 13th or 14th regarding
that time frame.

The LINK above to the 15 minute interview with the Regina Police Chief,
in post #8, followed by the 15 or so minute follow up conversation, is
very telling about how things are done around here....& it can be opened
and played in the background while you surf the Forum.

I'm given to understand that many of the folks in that complex would be
immigrants to this nation with English not being their primary language,
and they may not know that they have a right to answer this thing like
CDNBear did, or not at all. If they came from somewhere with an
oppressive and heavy handed government...this would (I'm assuming)
scared the living shyte out'a them.

You should Educate yourself on the basics of English common law.

One has a right not to bear witness against themselves.

I would simply refuse to talk to the police at all, after getting this........no lawyer required.

Well if you are not guilty, talking to the police is not a problem...

They should have had someone that can put a sentence together before they sent it out. A few errors I see.

Whoever apporved this is as I an fond of saying
Eiher on the close side of dumb
or the far side of smart.
Feel free to use this phrase, with the proper attribuition of course.

Now Risus will pick this up and decalre that I have some sort of Police Phobia / Mania - past criminal behaviour -

Ron - The good Officers must find this embarassing as hell.

Goob, you kep on making it easier to prove my point...

You clearly have not been able to reason out that the Police have been complicit in withholding evidence that could have cleared people. They were found guilty an off to jail - later to be freed

You are a Genius all right -

How long did it take for you to realize banging your head against a desk would HURT you?????????????

Yep, good police work would have cleared David Milgaard before he even went to court.

Milgaard wound up in jail over Fisher for one reason and one reason only. Media. Media hyped the snot out of it and scared the **** out of the young gals in S'Toon and the cops charged whoever they could to stop the media fear campaign.

Samething is happening this time just the media is being left out of the loop because they are a big pain in the ass.

Yep, and the whole god damned force including the chief should have been fired forthwith and charged with obstruction of justice. Milgaard had a credible witness, at the exact time the girl was being murdered (when a store proprietor opened up in the morning) Milgaard was waiting at the door to buy smokes, several miles from where the girl was murdered. Cops in general are good but I wouldn't trust any specific one that I didn't know.

From: Regina police questionnaire angers neighbours of triple homicide victims

Regina Police Service spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich would not comment on particular
details of the investigation, or the questionnaire that was passed out by police.

"I would simply assure people that we are conducting an investigation to try to determine who
is responsible for a terrible crime, and that any person that has nothing to hide should have
nothing to fear...," she said. "We know and have heard loud and clear that people want us to
find the person or persons responsible, and that means carrying out a thorough investigation."

As Bizarre as this "Questionnaire" is, what I find even stranger is that after
a week of stonewalling the media, etc...this "Questionnaire" is justified with
the "nothing to hide-nothing to fear fallacy." Holy Mackeral, eh?

Well if you are not guilty, talking to the police is not a problem...

Try Googling the words, "nothing to hide nothing to fear" and see what happens.

I'm just saying that using the "nothing to hide nothing to fear fallacy" is
pretty poor justification in pretty much any situation. If you have to use it,
you're full of shyte. That's all.

Debunking a myth: If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear - The Privacy, Identity & Consent Blog

Only one way to go about it is- Walk in naked - tell them you have nothing to hide - and you are off - Pun intended

Better be careful now - You could be classed as a Police O Phobe -
