Posts about the anachronistic, atavistic and sickening British Royalty.

Posters who demand a link, but dismiss anything and everything that they happen to disagree with, when the link is presented.

People who claim to be tolerant but are anything but.

People who can not tell the difference between 'their', 'there' and they're'. Or 'its' and 'it's'. Or 'than' and 'then'. Or people who rely on spell checkers. Or people who have no idea about punctuation and capitalization.

This just a start. Geez, it's great to be an old curmudgeon!

Up until now when I saw an obvious post from a spammer I used to tell the A$$hole fairly bluntly to F--- off. I got a private message from a mod, informing me that the technology is in place that automatically eliminates these spammers as soon as they show their face, BUT for this to work it is important not to reply to any spammers post because once you do their original post remains, so best just to totally ignore them. I think I got that right Shadow????????????

I know what you mean, Y.J. BUT there are nice, well meaning, intelligent people who make these errors, so as long as I can get the drift of their message best not to hassel them. When I was in school I was a top speller and I just consider myself lucky to have that ability and you should too and remember most of them have abilities you and I don't. Much easier to converse with them than those who have no ability with logic, which also runs rampant on here............LOL

Lazy posters are also a source of well-justified annoyance:

Those who leave 'lol', 'roflmao', 'imo', 'lmao'.

Study shows that the time difference between the above abbreviations and the corresponding ful term is not more than 15 seconds.

I hope that the lazy slugs who use these use the time they gained by being lazy, profitably.

Did I just ready YJ complaining about people who make spelling mistakes?

LOL.

If you were in Y.J.'s and my age category you would realize there is quite a bit of legitimacy to Y.J.'s "complaining". When we went to school misspelling words could be down right dangerous to the health to the point where you could very easily lose an ear over it. I remember in grade one having to paste words under the appropriate picture (computers were rare in those days) Anyway I stuck one on upside down, when all of a sudden out of the blue I got a fairly heavy hand right across the face. She was one of the kindlier teachers. Times they are a changin'.

That's pretty close, JLM.;)

The Mods can now get rid of every single one of a spammer's posts with a single click of the mouse. However, any spam posts that have been quoted(like one was a couple of times earlier in the thread) remain and have to be removed manually(if seen). It is fine to respond to a spam post if you wish(but we prefer you not to, as just Reporting it is good enough for us), but quoting it ends up making it more of a hassle for the Mods to get rid of the spam.

TenPenny, what I 'complained' about was NOT spelling. It was about grammatical errors that NOBODY whose mother tongue is English should EVER make.

By the way, the same people who annoy me as per my post #42 are also incapable to differentiate between 'whose' and 'who is' or 'who's'.

Egotistical blind people who are too full of themselves to look if there is already a thread on the topic they open a new thread on.

Annoyance?

How about those who come to the 'Express Checkout' with a full cartload of groceries?

And then leave their shopping cats all over the parking lot?

Yeah, they are a pain in the ass and just about as bad is the ones who stand there with their finger where the sun don't shine while the groceries are being tallied and THEN start looking in their purse for their cheque book/debit card or finding the exact change. Most of the grocery stores where I live have carts where you have to deposit a quarter or a buck and you don't get it back until the cart is returned to it's rightful spot. Hey, Y.J. all that stuff is small potatoes when in some parts of the world they are dodging I.E.D.s

Luckily, you and I never had to experience that. But then again this thread is about small annoyances.

Where is it stated it is about "small" annoyances?

Nit picking is also an annoyance. Admittedly, a SMALL one.

Maybe I should have said that this thread is about annoyances and not about life-threatening tragedies.

Sure, why not, but then again, I didn't give myself that title, I ran with something thrust upon me and had fun with it. In other words, taking what I dished out...;-)
