Still moaning about people mentioning Bush as having something to with how Obama is conducting the presidency? tsk tsk

How ironic... The very people that piss and moan about Bush are the ones to accuse others of not letting go of the past.

get over yourself already - and maybe learn to read while you're at it.

So it looks like Obama is driving towards a cliff? Who is to say that he doesn't turn before then? Who is to say a bridge won't be built by the time he gets there? Who says there isn't a hidden road down the cliff?

You've gotta be kidding

Now don't get me wrong. As a somewhat informed political science major, I have to say that I hate US Presidents. It's not a matter of IF one's good or bad, but rather HOW BAD one is going to be.

I'm convinced that a human being can't have the power and prestigue that the POTUS has and not be corrupted by it.

The Executive Branch is my least favorite branch of the US government. I really only think about it because I have to. Gah...

President really does not have all that much power. He cannot pass any laws; he has to rely o the Congress to pass the laws. He cannot even propose a budget; Congress has to authorize the money before President can spend it.

All of his nominees, to the cabinet, to the courts etc. must be approved by the Senate. Any foreign treaties he may sign must be ratified by the Senate by 2/3rd majority. I don’t think president has that much power at all. The Prime Minister of Canada has lot more power than the president does, especially if he has a majority in the House of Commons. Same with UK, the PM there has lot more power than US president.

Now the presidency may have prestige, but it doesn't have all that much power.

If I were allowed to vote, I would have said Reagan too, just for the fact that he was harmless as a fly while being entertaining at the same time. Ahh, nothing like those Reagan Gobachev days during the cold war...

He may have been harmless, but he did start the conservative tradition of borrow and spend. Since Reagan, conservatism has been synonymous with borrow and spend, both in USA and here in Canada.

Before Reagan, conservatives used to insist on balanced budget, prudent fiscal management etc. Now all they insist on is tax cuts, it doesn't matter what that does to the baalnce sheet.

Ah, you are right. The analogy is too complicated for you. I'll try thinking of something simpler.

Obama is reaching into the future, stealing our childrens money, and throwing it like confetti hoping somehow it will work. Pelosii and Obama are using the crisis as a giant social experiment, they have no idea what the hell they are doing. This is all one big blind faith mess of an attempt to turn America into a European style socialist nation and its utterly failing.

Obama is using "trickle down spending"...he is throwing BILLIONS at corporations and executives hoping it will all trickle down to you and I. . What a miserable failure

OBAMA. WORST. PRESIDENT. EVER.

What do you think

You really want to know what I think?:lol::lol: I think it's about the stupidest f'n question asked so far about Obama. Would you declare a winner or loser of a baseball game after 2 innings? I've got no idea how he'll stack up when he's finished, but before you declare him to be the worst you'd better study up on Warren G. Harding and James Buchanan for starters.

the health care reforms is not gonna work at all my friend.
its just gonna take more money from us the citizens that pay taxes and It shows that the reforms won't fundamentally change the runaway pace of US health spending including both public and private-sector dollars. With or without reform, the overall US medical bill will account for about 21 percent of gross domestic product in 2019, or 3 percentage points higher than today, according to a recent analysis done within the Health and Human Services Department. so this is just a wack reform thats just gonna hurt our country BAD!

I don't want to p*ss on his parade/healthsystem.................I think it will probably be equally as good/bad as what was already in place.

When I see all the bath mouthing of Obama on a Canadian forum, I'm beginning to wonder if we aren't a lot more racially prejudiced than the U.S. - especially pertaining to a matter that doesn' really concern us, albeit our welfare is partly dependent on the U.S. but before we concern ourselves too much about them maybe we should ensure our house is tickety boo.

Obama is the best thing that happened to the US after Bush. Obama will do a second term, and America will immerge as having the best President serve them with honour and dignity. Bush ruined American dignity. He led them to a war that was purely designed on a lie.

For sensibility your post is almost on a par with the original post.

When you have a mess to clean up it always gets worse before it gets better.
The reason Obama is having so much trouble is because he is taking action
and change real change is always difficult, sometimes the things you thought
would work, don't and that creates problems in itself. Most people focus on
the Banks and large companies being saved, not realizing the danger had he
not done it. The problem was not saving the companies it was saving the
finance companies they owned, like GMAC, which owns Ditech the housing
mortgage company. Has anyone ever heard of leveraged funds or sometimes
called Derivatives? Still outstanding is a time bomb most people don't even
know is there. Most do not know that speculators were able to borrow at a
ratio of 1 to 1,000,000. Yes for each dollar you had you could leverage it to
one million dollars in speculative investments. There is a book out there that
explains a lot, its call Game Over. Still out there is a problem estimated by
some to be around 900 trillion dollars. It diminishes over time, but if nothing
was done, the leveraged market would completely default taking the world
economy with it. Its what happened to Japan in the 80's and they have been
in recession or on the doorstep of such for over 20 years.
Health care is long overdue in America. they spend more than we do on health care
by percentage and value for consumers is not that great. Virtually all the rest of the
industrialized world has some form of medicare for citizens at large.
The United States is run by a collection of special interests groups and nothing more
the whole place is one big lobby. Yes Obama is leaning somewhat to the left but
in terms of the western world he is still a Conservative. I think people will be surprised in the coming elections. The Right wing is the party of oppose everything,
Women, lower income groups and others who are socially progressive will come out
in droves to save the gains made, and the emotional shrill voices of Palin and that
crowd will further undermine the Republican right.

When after two innings the home team is down fifty to nothin yes the fans smell defeat, you however will swill beer and pretzels until the bloody lights go out and have to read about the score next day in the paper to see how the game really turned out. He is the worst simply because he is the latest and in office at the end.

So what's your point? The other team can just as easily score 50 runs in the next two innings...................

Not one iota different than about anyone else who murders 6 million people.
