Thirty years ago Science Professionals called it Global Cooling and when the weather got warmer Science Professionals changed the name to Global Warming. Then, when left-wing, flat Earth, no growth Science Professionals thought they could do some social engineering, they called it Anthropogenic Global Warming(AGW). Now that the models don't fit any of the emperical data Science Professionals have changed the name to Climate Change to cover Science Professionals' asses(CYA) no matter what happens to the weather or the climate.
You're the most ignorant fellow by far on this subject.
1. Most active scientists in the 1970's were finding that the climate was indeed warming, by a wide margin. Read the meta-analysis for yourself, one of the American Meteorological Society's most popular papers:

To claim that this global cooling prediction was the dominant mode amongst climate scientists is to be demonstrably and provably wrong.
2. What you know of climate science comes from the media. You've never posted links to papers, always blogs or science illiterate opinion journals.
Prove where the scientists changed what they were calling it. What you know, is what the media call it. We all know how precise and scientific they are...:lol:
3. The models do fit. The greenhouse model fits closer than any other.

Chapter 8 of AR4, WG1 of the IPCC , and be sure to follow the references at the end of the chapter. To claim the models do not fit the observations is to be demonstrably and provably wrong.
4. Climate change covers the average weather and how it is changing. I prefer climate change, because it accurately describes what is happening. Global warming only describes a warmer globe, and says nothing about the other changing patterns in our climate system (aridity, moisture, cloud cover, precipitation, etc.)
It doesn't cover their asses. It covers the range of noted changing phenomena.
