It's going to rain here tonight, easier to shovel Ron.
It's 5 degrees here right now Ron (midnight). We had a report that we were going to get some snow by the end of the week but that's already changed. Our coldest weather coming up is 2 overnight. I was out shopping this afternoon in just a sweatshirt. (Whoops - sweatshirt and jeans) Met another lady dressed just the same. Too hot in the stores to wear anything heavier. Bought a new quilt for my bed today because the duvet is too warm. I think you are living in the wrong province Ron. On the rare occasions that we get snow, it never looks like your pics. Usually little biddy traces that we let melt. rather than shovel.Trade Ya'? 8O

I've only ever seen one bad (semi bad) March in Vernon in all the years I lived there. What I am counting as bad is that we still had traces of snow in March one year. It always starts to warm up by mid Feb. and it keeps on going.WE've been very lucky here for a spell Ron, but we paid our dues back in December when we had minus 19. I'm'presently keeping my fingers crossed because I know March can be a real bitch here, when it makes up it's mind.
We're up to a couple inches and it doesn't look like it will stop any time soon. I know those people in Edmonton and Regina will have a hard time generating a lot of sympathy for us but our weather is usually more civilized.
But most of BC never sees that kind of weather. Up north around Prince George and in places like where Anna G. and Countryboy live. I guess Cliff is on the edge of it. We had more snow last year than has ever been seen here on this Island and for longer periods but so far, it's a once in a lifetime event. My sister-in-law has never seen a winter like it here in this city in all of her 63 years. The Okanagan gets snow but seldom does it go beyond a couple of feet deep and the temps. can drop to -20F but it doesn't last and doesn't even happen every winter. We had a cold front pass thru yesterday, temp. dropped to 59F this morning. Those pictures only reinforce the reasons why I moved to sunny Florida.
Juan, we would gladly take some of that snow off your hands. Pray that it will make it to the not-so-snowy 'Heartland'.
As for Regina, well my sis tells me that they were hit by a big blizzard a couple of days ago. Winter storm and blizzard warnings were posted and driving was severely impacted in many southern areas of the province. She and her hubby had a hard timing just driving the streets of Regina.
The post you quoted was two years old. As yet, we haven't had any snow this year...Knocking wood...;-)

Well - before more rain starts, we need to go pack up more of our son's house and help him complete his and the children's move to their new house.
But I never said "the interior". That includes as far as Prince George. I said "the Okanagan". I was born and raised there and I certainly saw many days of -20F then and I've seen those days in Vernon as well. As I said before - not often but I've seen/felt them. I've also lived in Prince George with -40 on either scale with a wind chill of -65F. I believe we lived in P. George from about 85 - 87. I realize it has warmed up considerably, hence the reason the pine beetle doesn't get killed off.Having lived in the Interior for over 24 years now, I can honestly say that I have never seen the temps drop as low as -59', VanIsle. Rather, I have a seen a trend to warmer temps and, until last year, less snow each winter. I believe the coldest we have seen this winter is in the -30' range.
It is snowing like hell in my part of Nanaimo right now. The temperature is around zero. The weatherman says we are having "light rain". The temperature is supposed to go up to 9 today so the snow probably won't last.............:lol:
