Is that a question or a statement? Remember these things with the curly line and the dot under them? I'll treat it as if it were a question: I don't know. Who said this god was happy that it killed its son? It seems to me that people killed the guy, if he existed, anyway, not some god.How important would something be to you that you would kill your only son and be happy that it was done.
I can take a guess, too: if he existed at all, he might have been a nutjob. One could come up with dozens of ideas why the guy committed suicide.The 2nd verse is why Christ would willingly let death happen to Him.
Isa:53:10
Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him;
he hath put [him] to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
he shall see [his] seed,
he shall prolong [his] days,
and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Pro:8:31
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth;
and my delights [were] with the sons of men.
Nope, I didn't like church. I thought it was dumb then and I haven't changed any. Dad was cool, though. As far as I know my kids have always been quite happy, yes.Did you always agree with the way your parents guided your path and have your own children always gladly accepte all your decisions concerning them?
lol Where did all this water come from? Did it just poof itself out of nowhere and decide to fall onto Earth? Did an ocean boil off and make all that moisture in the air? 6 inches of rain per day wherever there is land is just pushing the credibility factor too far.The global flood was 21ft of rain in 40 straight days. Rain didn't have to land on any Ocean or Sea, just on the land. You would agree that the receeding icecaps raised sea level 100's of ft. Why is it so impossible that the water raised due to rain than the oceans creeping up from over the horizon.
How do you know they weren't Christ's footprints? Just the prints, no scratch marks like a long spear that had one end dragging would leave? They should overlap each other occasionally and He does claim to have been around during that time. It's in a journal type of entry that give His credentials to know all that is needed to be known by a Judge.You mean that people didn't walk down a creek bed in the footsteps of dinosaurs 6000 years ago!
what about the two of everykind to fit in a boat like that? These sound verymuch like bedtime stories than anything elseYeah, this flood thing is too far-fetched for me to believe.
Atlantis was a very big piece of the northern ice cap (fresh water) that was on the Atlantic Ocean. After breaking loose it drifted south and ran aground. Over the years ash fallout created a type of soil that was always just right for growing. It literally melted out from under their feet, poof not a trace.YOu have to be careful what you believe in those flood stories, as the amount of water in the world is always constant it was impossible to have a flood on both sides (the earth was flat at that time) at the same time. I've heard it said that the great flood was caused by Atlantis sinking, there may be a tad of hyperbole there too.
Ge:7:4:
For yet seven days,
and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights;
and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
Nothing about raising the water level over the whole earth so it was 'flat at a depth that was above the highest mountain'. 21 ft of rain over the land portions of the earth. That much rain will cause the kind if flooding that would be able to lift the Ark (even in that type of flood some relatively calm spots would still exist, a backwater eddy rather than being at the very bottom of a steep narrow canyon.
Fountains of the deep are the source of the water (Oceans, etc) they interact with another 'of God's creation' to complete the explanation.
Ge:7:11:
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life,
in the second month,
the seventeenth day of the month,
the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up,
and the windows of heaven were opened.
Ge:7:12:
And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
In that time the weather did change somewhat. before the flood the inhabitable parts land was covered in a mist. It is more likely that the mist rose to become our current clouds than it being a contributing factor in where the rain got its moisture from. Warm winds blowing over large bodies of water and then onto the land is all that would need to be done. It could come as a drizzle or as a moderate wind ( I doubt the Ark was built for surfing one big waves). 6"/day is not a torrential downpour. A thunder storm can dump an inch in 15 minutes. You would get the same result if that rain made it's way around the globe as a slow-moving band of rain. In the Americas it wouldn't matter if the movement was east to west or north to south. It only matters that 21ft fall in 40 days. What would be left of cities built out of mud and clay? Silt would have covered many things and so would the waves that were there as the waters receded to the seas. What are vthe signs you should look for to find something that is like a flash flood. Tidal waves would push coastal rocks far inland and high in elevation. A flood in the other direction would be the sames thing as always except the 'silt' would contain large boulders. If high mountains got 21 ft then places in the path of the runoff would see much deeper water levels than the 21ft they receive. Current speeds would also help in removing all traces of built objects. Mountain tops all over the world would have appeared after the rains stopped. Whatever vegetation was there before the flood probably left a few seeds that could sprout. Where Noah was it just happened to be a certain kind.
The above isn't an attempt to belittle God, 40 days of rain that amounts to over 20 ft is not something to view as being a small thing when the 'at His leisure' is taken into account.
The one that came up with a globe with an extra few miles of water over the entire surface was ... well it even raised my eyebrows when I 1st heard it lol
Babies take up very little room.what about the two of everykind to fit in a boat like that? These sound verymuch like bedtime stories than anything else
Seriously that is what some have said the flood must have been like. Take the elevation of the highest mountain and add that much water to the whole surface and that was the 40 day flood, rather than 6"/day, that worked out to 250 ft/day I quietly backed out of that meeting.Extra FEW MILES? If the polar ice caps and all the mountains on Earth shed their ice and snow, the oceans would rise not much more than 200 FEET
Pretty much. The boat would have to be the size of Vancouver or something. There are literally millions of species of life ranging in size from microbes to African elephants (we know about 2 million of them and we're still finding more). Who built this boat? How long did it take? Where did all the wood come from? Who bailed it out after it started raining?what about the two of everykind to fit in a boat like that? Grimm's Fairy Tales are more believable.
Flat like your brain-waves? lol The Bible never says the earth was flat, it does have it floating though.There may be one more thing that everyone is forgetting, the earth in those days being flat the water wouldn't run off like it would today, so someone should be working out a coeffecient.
God did that part. The men and their wives were in the Ark when the beasts and such began to enter.Not to mention that it might take a little more than just hollering "giddy up" to get a lot of those critters, just to walk on the boat.
How would they collect the microbes? They didn't even have microscopes back then to see the critters with.Not to mention that it might take a little more than just hollering "giddy up" to get a lot of those critters, just to walk on the boat.
