I dunno - maybe the people in the courtroom were dumbfounded to see this happen before their eyes - but sorry , responding to a wrong by attacking someone who merely physically represents what you feel is wrong? BIG wrong.
Call me a cockeyed whatever, but I'm not going to attack a woman wearing hijab in order to address the wrongs I feel done to the west by the Muslim countries, I don't thin I should be attacking anyone who hasn't attacked me personally - and even then, I'd rather talk first.
And on another level? Attacking someone for what I FEEL they represent, gives license to all those extremists - the islamists, the aryan nation types, the followers of meir kahan - to do the same. Sorry - won't even giv this guy a 'ok - maybe he had issues' pass ....

I did the H2S course some months ago and the instructor was named Mr. Death (pronounced Deeth). I wondered to myself if he had some kind of sick reason for teaching the course or if job experience just pushed him that way. Anyway, he was quite clear in pointing out the dangers of H2S and woe to him who took the course lightly because Mr. Death was quick to point out the end result if you took this dangerous gas for granted. Nothing evil in that but it sure was ironic.

It shouldn't matter - being cut down because the woman wore hijab - in other words equating her with those Islamist terrorists that kill everyone who doesn't believe/dress like they think they should? Puts them on the same level as those who 'beheaded, cut to pieces, hung on bridges those who were Jewish or American'. It's just wrong. I look at a woman who wears hijab as someone who wears hijab. I don't look at her as someone who supports Bin Laden or his equivalent - unless she actually says so. Even then, would I shoot her because she expresses an opinion that is anathema to me? Of course not. I'd choose talk first.

Hey DW I'm sorry if I come across as apathetic about this story but I'm personally becoming desensitized to all the killing going on in the world in the name of racism and terrorism. Yes, it was a terrible act that took place in Germany, pure and simple. Racism may have just reared it's ugly head again in B.C. when 3 young white men attacked a black man on the streets of a small town for no reason other than the color of his skin. It's rampant throughout the world. Until we start focussing on peace instead of war we will continue to see these types of stories come out.

One thing I learned from Mr. Death. Don't take your life for granted.

I was in a very warm and comfortable place, without pain or worry. I was asked (by whom I cannot say) if I wanted to continue on this path or to return to my body. The first time I had a seven month old son and a wife who were fifty five klicks out in the forest so I chose to come back for their sake. The next time I came back for my sake, to try to finish what I had started. I was quite lucid but completely detached from the cares of this world and my body. The decision didn't have any emotional attachment to it. It just seemed like the right thing to do.
