Jens Bischof is author of Ice Drift, Ocean Circulation And Climate Change and is a research assistant professor in Old Dominion’s Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.

Prof. Bischof is NOT a real Scientist because he has dared to come out and say the Earth is actually cooling based on his studies and most importantly Tyr has deemed it so.

Tyr knows more about GW than he does.

May cool, he said may cool, and because it happened before... And if you search his publication record, you won't find him saying that at all. That, you should be skeptical of.

Still waiting...:smilebox:

As I am waiting for my question that I have asked... have you been buying carbon credits year after year.

Now what you are asking me to do is a "Fool's Errand". In order for me to get that answer I would have to ask Prof. B at ODU. I would have to contact him and explain your question and wait for a response if he was to even reply. But you want an instantaneous response from me. Sorry Charlie...

Carbon credits? Buy any?

No, and it's not really relevant to whether the earth is warming or not.

Surely you can use Google? How did you find the article in the first place? He talks now about things happening that he hasn't published. Try google scholar, read the abstracts.

Well, if any of the folks who think that the climate isn't now warming due primarilly to greenhouses gases can explain why the stratosphere is cooling, when the troposphere is warming, maybe then I'll seriously consider that the theory is wrong.

Seriously, try to find an explanation for that. I'll wait.

And for the few folks here who think that global warming means monotonically increasing temperatures, you need to do some further reading. The trend from global warming is 0.017°C a decade or there abouts, and natural variability is on the order of degrees...that's why you have to look at long term time series, or you'll make incorrect assessments as many have.

So, if you listen to the blatherers who don't know climate from weather, it looks like global warming has ended 15 times or so in the last 150 years, or once every decade or so.

Yet the absolute heat that the Earth retains continues to build...hmm I wonder why?

You'll have to look back a LOT farther than just a century and a half to see the real picture. Of course it's warming ... and your graph reveals just a snippet of time. Mean temperatures will drop too - over eons. It is cyclic activity - tides, seasons, climate extremes, day, night that keeps the planet alive.

He cut and pasted that out of "MAD" Magazine.

Oh you're so funnnnnyyyy Tyr. Oh boy are you a card.

How very childish.

Just admit it... your side lost so now you have no other recourse except to lash out at the Victors.

sigh.... It's like trying to explain soap bubbles to a two year old. Come back when you actually have some facts:cool:

True... He did not like this graph to much...

Poor Tyr... you can't even come up with your own material with regards to maturity. No wonder you swallowed the hook on this. You are easily led... the Lost Cause of Global Warming. You folks had a good run though I give you that.

Carbon credits? Did you buy any?

It fits my purposes fine. It shows that temperature at the earth's surface is very noisy. If you want me to explain my point another way, lets try a simple example. The trend now is about 0.17 degrees per decade. The trend for rolling a seven with two dice over time would be 0.1667, pretty much the same thing. Yet we know if you roll that dice 150 times, there will be runs of outcomes that don't match the stated trend for 7. Does that mean the dice are not fair?

No, it is inevitable that you will get outcomes outside the norm.

So, as the graph clearly indicates, the folks who think 10 non-sevens in a row mean that climate change has ended are in error. They are confusing the noise (weather) with the trend (climate).

Have any of you deniers ever stopped to consider that us dumb scientists know exactly how much CO2 man is responsible for, know exactly how much CO2 the oceans have taken up and exactly how much nature contributes making it blatantly obvious this is indeed real and man made? Ever think that maybe just maybe we've kept records of all the fossil fuels extracted and burned over the past couple hundred years? Ever acre of trees that has been harvested. Heck even you can figure out your carbon output if you have to keep your receipts for business purposes. Do you really think we need ice cores or satellite data to prove this? You are out to lunch and extremely naive if you think this isn't real. The money records back up the science without science having to prove a damn thing.

Oh Tonnington... did I expect you to believe what ANYONE says opposing your view of Global Warming? Of course not. No matter how many scientist oppose GW... you Tonnington... YOU... will always feel superior to them and anyone else not in step with the GW Political Movement.

GW has become one of THOSE issues... for or against... no middle ground... if they agree with your thinking... they are BRILLIANT! However if they disagree... they are so stupid and deserving of your contempt regardless of their credentials.

Just like how anyone who beleives in AGW is called part of some grand liberal tree hugging conspiracy.....right?

Or does it only go one way for you Mr. Kettle?
