It seems we are now moving back to our normal winter 'mild temps', with some
rain and cloudy conditions, looks good to me.
I will be able to start my walking again, it's nice walking in the rain, it''s warm
and of course when dressed for it, one stays dry.
I don't like the lack of being able to go out and do 'things', when there is so much snow on the ground, brings everything to a halt, I guess there is always
the treadmill, but I would rather walk outdoors.

Another big whack of snow to contend with here this morning, but at least it's turned mild again at minus 10C - bitterly cold here yesterday for the daily walk, just tuckered the old feller right out.

It was raining off and on all night(I got soaked during one of my Patrols). It is supposed to go up to 12degrees today!

I guess a "pineapple express" would be nice (with the exception of the flooding) would sure give my heating bill a break- I'm sure many of us are just dreading to see it for Dec.

I see we are starting out the New Year more or less the way the old one went out- more snow this morning and snowing to beat the band, but at least temperatures not quite so bone chilling. What's up in Nakusp, Cliff?

We have not gotten back to normal yet. Night before last it poured rain but still left oodles of snow and the parking lot at work was so slippery I could hardly walk from my car into the store. This morning we have fresh snow but at this point, it has stopped. I haven't looked at a weather report this morning. Hardly seems to be any point. It's rarely right.

I don't exactly envy you I.P. at least this stuff is dry and you can pretty well sweep it, as opposed to the heavy stuff on V.I. that sticks to the shovel. That is real heart attack country down there, you don't hear too much of people suffering heart attacks shovelling snow here. All the best for '09.

I'd like to report that after the last big snowfall I didn't shovel the driveway. We had a little over a foot of snow when I went on my shoveling strike and the rain and warmer weather has now completely cleared the driveway. I got stuck a couple times over the last three weeks but managed, by sheer stubbornness, to drive out.

ROFL Juan!!

AS much as I admire your ingenuity, that approach would have the city writing tickets galore on me... we're legally obligated to have our walks cleared within 48 hrs (I think) of a snowfall. Plus, we don't get rain to come along and clear our driveways off... pity, that! I did have a neighbor though who went on strike with shoveling his driveway and chose instead to drive up and down the driveway flattening the snow rather than shovel it. hahaha ... don't think that idea hasn't crossed my mind more than once!

I know people in Nanaimo, and all I can say is ha ha. Edmontonians deserve it no more so than anyone else in the Northern Hemisphere.
My kids live in Edmonton and one has to take a bus to get to work, not a fun task, but he is a good kid, and will endure like a man. They also like the winter, crazy kids, ha ha.
I feel bad a little as I sit and enjoy the warm caribbean sun, and endless days of it. But soon he will come for a two week visit, I only wish my daughter could as well, but she is a busy mom and all. Maybe next year with more planning we can take the grandkids, or all of them with us,here or Mexico.
I will be thinking how lucky I am to be here and not there.
